  1. The Sophont League assembly was holograming in,
The judges chosen by lot before proceedings begin.
The ants-like hive mind, the Lutel squid in tulle ,
The cheerful Coypil bird, the dour Hecrey jewel.

Gorn'Da led Dan in, looking confused and abashed,
To say what he could, before a decision was cast.
On the journey from Earth, he had the chance to study
The mores and policies of the League, good and ugly.

So now he faced the beings who would decide the fate
Of himself, and the future of the entire human race!
He had been chosen at random, but it had been provident.
For Dan was a lawyer, who relished any good argument!

    (To be concluded!)

  2. The Sunday Jumble posted late today (sometime between 1AM and 4AM), so I only had the Daily Jumble words when I wrote the poem.

  3. Looking forward to Dan's presentation before the judges. I predict he'll do well.
(Will the conclusion be based on the second Sunday jumble or on Monday's?)

  4. Re. 6*6 J_.
I had problems with #2 TALYNE for no good reason. Sloppy thinking. Brain drained from weekends xwords.

And I've been sneezing a lot, too, lately.

  5. I don't usually post on Sundays, but I had to keep up with Owen's epic!
(Will the suspense truly end tomorrow?)
Also, checking out the six-prelim Sunday J, I nominate this one for a funnier-than-usual final answer! Kiddie humor, I know, but still worth a real chuckle ...

  6. Wilbur, I'm always amazed how a word that looks so foreign and bizarre can turn out to be so neat and customary, even if it occasionally has a little crunch to it. Sorry about your sneezing--keep those tissues handy.

Have a happy Sunday, Ol'Man Keith.

  7. Plenty of tissue I hope on the gesundheit special.

I'll have to solve the 4*4 so I can read Owen's installment of Dan and the Pirates .

Now, Bilbo* was trapped and got out of it by suggesting a riddle game .

    * Everyone should read Tolkien. Btw, I have Dostoevsky's Notes from (the) Underground next to the bed .

  8. I solved the 4*4 . All I had to do was extract the right letters from the words .
Plus know my fabrics which I don't .

Hmm . If Owen, nah, he'll be back in no time

  9. The Outlook wasn't brilliant with that shifty Sophant bunch
He'd need to use his noodle. This was the final crunch.
He said "I hear it is the custom in this far away locale
To honor the ancient riddle game. Say the word and to play we shall."

WC in for Owen (unauthorized of course)
