There are several other Jumble blogs, but the ones I checked all started off by listing the answers. In this blog, answers can be either hinted at or masked by burying them in comments. No overt spoilers!
The Martian colony was a cruel place. No air to breathe with an unmasked face. The food was bland, there was no meat, Supplies from Earth took twenty weeks!
There was T.V., and the latest movie. More popular, tho, was the karaoke! That seems nutty, but with less than fifty For live entertainment, there was a frenzy!
So much boredom, laughs were precious. Worst of all was ocher dust, so pernicious! Plumbing was primitive, an outhouse throne Let dust into creases heretofore unknown!
Ok, Owen, you win. I am now a Jumble Junky! Small price to pay for reading your poems. Loved today’s offering. That PERNICIOUS OCHRE DUST will stay in my mind!!
"Whenever the caption writers leave out a word that is central to the meaning of the cartoon, that word will invariably be found in the final answer." And we all know a monarch sits in a chair, a rocker, a seat, even a La-Z-Boy, but never a ------ ...
Fun Jumble this morning, made me chuckle because it was so loony. That king looked like he was in a bit of a rush to get that chair out of there. Maybe he didn't want the folks in his province to think he was being too haughty.
I love the nuttiness of the contrast: tv but no bathrooms, just outhouses! Definitely not my kind of colony. The jumble was pretty easy; as OMK pointed out, the omission of the chair type was very obvious.
Owen could have been decribing 'Nam's bases Believe it or not there was a tv station and it used to have Star Trek .
I see we have Owen's "OCHER" and Sandy's OCHRE. Red either way, eh?
I chuckled when I got #1. And that poor mcdMcDonal manager wasn't chuckling when I showed up to tell him that idI found my glasses and they weren't in his trash after all. He acted as if I was #2 .
I was #4 when I found them . #3 was tough until I rearranged the vowels, an old OMK trick. As opposed to a trick ON OL' OMK.
