There are several other Jumble blogs, but the ones I checked all started off by listing the answers. In this blog, answers can be either hinted at or masked by burying them in comments. No overt spoilers!
I'd love to see Hawai'i, that tropical land so far away! I'd love to see the sun rise from the ocean at start of day! I think that I would be comfy out there in sunny seasons. Even when the rains came, I'd like it for many reasons!
I'd love to hear the wonders there, a volcano's -- distant -- roar, The strumming of ukuleles, the waves washing onto the shore. The soft nēnē of the Hawaiian goose, black at head and toes, Cream-colored stripes in between -- there an Oreo-bird goes!
I'd like to inhale that salt sea air, see surf of salt sea foam! I'd like to immigrate there, and call those islands home! Tho some mealy-mouthed natives may call me a haole, Yet still I yearn to be there -- and bring my haole family!
A Jumble delight this morning. Not totally easy, I struggled a bit with 3 and 4, and at first thought I'd have to come here to get Owen's help with the solution. But when I looked at the cartoon again--I got it! Woohoo! Very funny and cute!
I got this pretty quickly but hadn't a chance to get here until now . Reading the CC takes awhile . I was invited to breakfast after my Mtg then had to straighten out blood work for my 9/5 kidney appt.
Fortunately, I solved at McDonald's over icetea so when I was asked for a urine sample I was able to"double dip" .
But when I got here I'd forgotten everything . Then... When I went searching for #4, which I suspected would be hard to fit in, nada.
Then I saw it, that ubiquitous xword staple
FLN, WITH of course . Side-splittingly. And today we had a bear in the hotel from CED. Or someone .
I did write down all the letters to get the riddle. I don't necessarily write them in order sometimes that works .
"Distant" roar is right, Owen -- those who've heard it up close certainly regret it. But although you make Hawaii sound lovely (even the Oreo bird), I've never had a desire to visit, let alone emigrate!
On the whole, SoCal has ocean and beach enough for me.
Sandyanon - but we don't have droughts, fires, mudslides... oh, wait, we do. But we've just spent our 5th year here, and it hasn't gotten over 90°, and that only a few times. We don't have A/C or heat, or any real need for them. I felt one small earthquake, and in our time here I think 5 hurricanes have just missed us.

ReplyDeleteGlad you're happy there, Mike. Glad I'm happy here. We should all like where we live, yes?
