North, in Scandinavia, there's a ruckus growing.
ReplyDeleteIntolerance of Arab immigrants is showing.
Who's looking after their human rights?
Can they withstand long arctic nights?
Can their men handle Swedish sweating saunas?
Their women play beach volleyball while in linen burkas?
Who can notify their reverent mosques in Norway
That boots in skis can be a real hazard in a doorway?
Will they someday want a caliph found for Finland?
An emir in the Althing, the parliament of Iceland?
Or will they assimilate to be like Denmark Danes,
Take up herding with the Sami, playing reindeer games?
Arabs in Iceland, what a cool concept.

ReplyDeleteHe's a master of seduction, a picture of refinement!
It seemed unjust when he's used only as a go-fer,
A courier was menial. He was unlucky, not a loafer!
One day he's on the Riviera, pulcritude all around,
But the dossier he's to get cannot be found!
It was in his cabana, and it wasn't so teeny
Any girl could sneak it out inside her bikini!
Next he was sent for papers from an arctic station,
But deep freezing water became the files' destination.
A beautiful woman scientist had caught his eye,
When she dumped his satchel he saw she was a spy!
In frustration his boss sent him to get a report
From a mole they had embedded in a hostile fort.
His target was Gay, the mission went first-rate!
Superiors realized he couldn't get facts, Straight!

DeleteWord 2 was the only easy one. I needed hints for the other three. The sol. came easily.
ReplyDeleteWow! a 17 letter solution to the Jumble this morning! I struggled only with the last item, which I just couldn't get. So I went on to the reveal and was surprised how easily that one filled in, even if I'm not generally great on geography. Made for a real Sunday morning pleasure.
ReplyDeleteSo, on the Sunday jumble, I found the clue words pretty easy. Took a little more time with the last one, but no real problems. But so embarrassing to draw a blank on the solution! I knew perfectly well that it wasn't Channel of Magellan, but just couldn't bring up the right word. So -- I googled. I Never google the Jumble- -- except today. Oh well, at last I got my facts straight and remembered. But it was not a thrill, believe me.
ReplyDeleteOMK or Lemonade, could you ask CC about putting a link to the Jumble on the sidebar? I'd love to, but I'm not an official 'blue' blogger and would feel rather presumptuous doing it.
ReplyDeleteI simply Google search for "JUM" and the site comes up . Sometimes I have to re-enter it . The URL is the last one I accessed so I have to hit Home .
ReplyDeleteNot much trouble. I'm on Android chrome.
I got the riddle but now I see i messed up #1. Hmm .nope not GRATER obviously . Need an extra T.
Hint, Misty?

I just got it. Not even difficult but my aim was off

Sounds like you were right on target after all, Wilbur.
ReplyDeleteMay I clarify my previous suggestion? I mentioned OMK and Lemonade because they were discussing links to the Jumble with Owen. But really, any regular blogger who's interested in the Jumble would be great. I hope somebody takes it on, because it would be a good way to make the Jumble blog more visible.
ReplyDeleteThe final solution was like a brick wall until someone here mentioned that it's the Strait of Magellan. V8 can please!!!! And I still don't have the last word. I'm afraid I was off target most of the day as I worked on it off and on. I may be distracted because I'm in the process of remodeling part of my hallway bathroom so I have colors on my mind.
