  1. Sue was the gal at our church who
    Always stayed out after curfew.
    For the choir boys whom
    She loaned her "rec" womb,
    Sue faithfully fondled their virtue.

  2. OMK, I don't think those boys had any virtue left but were certainly glad to fondle hers.

The four J's were a snap and once I realized that the second word wasn't WORK I quickly grok'ed the riddle-solution.

Let's follow the 14 dwarves and hobbit exploration of the ruins of Thror's kingdom.

  3. It occured to Bilbo, Balin and finally to Thorin too
That they best needs leave this wreck of a room
With flagons, bowls and broken drinking-horns all askew.
For Smaug might yet return and that would spell certain doom.

Bilbo was lost but Thorin was unruffled, for he knew
The way to the great hall of Thror that unlocked a view
Of a great arch carved in the days before the machinations
Of Smaug and his awesome power spelt dwarvish destruction.

  4. Bill met Jill online on Zoom,
And a romance began to bloom.
    They met on his deck
    Where he kissed her neck,
And soon ended up as her groom.

Years later their teenage son Beck
Turned their parlor into a wreck.
    They gave him a broom
    To clean up that room
Which earned him a thank-you check.

  5. My macaw so ruffles my feathers.
    Whenever I plan get-togethers,
He unlocks and then wrecks my room.
    So my tiny shrewd saboteur
Sees to it they never occur,
And plunges me deep into gloom.

WHY DO I PUT UP WITH HIM?!!

  6. BTW, no, I don't have a macaw. Lucky me!

  7. Somehow I posted twice, re. Bilbo. I'll delete one of them.

  8. Misty, your lil’ bitty ditty
Was just so darned sweet & pretty.
    A nice surprise
    For these old eyes…
‘Tis pity we’re not all so witty!

  9. I see our Sandy is handy
    Describing her avian Arani*.
    The bird was absurd,
    Behav’d like a turd,
But her verse? Ah! quite the Jim-Dandy.

I'm told tales that she has a parrot
    Are apparently all without merit.

  11. Sandy see if you can spot it

    Of

Of a great arch carved in the days before the machinations
Of Smaug and his awesome power spelt dwarvish destruction.

    Anybody spot it?

Sandy can sure spin a l'ick
So to Misty, take your pick

    Misty never gets ruffled
    And Sandy won't be muffled

Out of both I sure got a kick

  12. Thank you, Wilbur,
    You're never sappy,
    And you always
    Make us happy!

  13. And you, Keith,
    Deserve a wreath
    For being sweet
    And a daily treat.

  14. Wilbur ~ The bird may be lurking within or between words, but I admit I don't see it.
Are you perhaps relying on the (American) pronunciation of "machinations" to get a (partial) phonetic echo of "macaw" in the 1st syllables?

  15. I see "mac"hinations and much, much later I see "aw"esome. That's quite a separation, Wilbur. Too much for me to grasp it.

  16. "Macaw"-nitions is what I saw.
Sorry, my writer's block just wasn't able to overcome that macaw-ber word today. But I'll try extra hard to get out two tomorrow. At the moment, I have a sparrow flying around from picture frame to picture frame here in my bedroom!

  17. Oh, and marvelous rhyming by everyone today, most especially Sandy for incorporating all the Jumble words!

  18. Yes, mack-in-ations followed by "AWEsome. As Owen said not an easy fit

I guess Saturday will be known as poetry night (and day).
