Well, the LA Times had a different Jumble this morning--a long, complicated one--and I had to work hard to come up with a poem. Will you be able to post that Jumble cartoon, Owen and Ol'Man Keith?

"Brave Annie"
Annie played with her abacus
and enjoyed never making a fuss.
But problems so sudden
her peace did muddle.
Her neighbors made mayhem
and she had to pay them.
Others worked to indict
so she again had to fight.
Her cousin was a broker
but his business was a joker.
Annie wanted to hide in a cavern,
but instead got a drink at a tavern.
Yes, her life was no lark,
difficult and stark.
But she worked like a raven
and refused to cave in.
Yes, things did make her mad,
so she often was sad.
But she knew there was always tomorrow
when she could emerge from her sorrow.
I am still in bed, a floor away from my desktop. But when I get up, I can access the digital Times which ought to be the same you worked.

Keith, thank you for posting the J6! I just tried to move it, and I couldn't, either. Still, I guess having it first is no big deal. Could you handle doing that every Sunday? That way we'd get the real thing, instead of my less accurate retyping.

ReplyDeleteMy "weird" schedule began with decades of theater work, never getting to bed till 1 or 2 am.
I still get into bed around that time, but as I've aged I find I can't sleep yet. I read or watch Netflix, do the basic Jumble, and usually nod off around 4 am.
My best sleep time is in the morning light.

And I thought I was a sleepyhead. I finally got to Breakfast Station about 1100 am after a grocery trip in the way to buy the TB-Times.
ReplyDeleteI actually solved the six J's from the newspaper and the riddle-solution. #3 played havoc with me but #6 required solving the riddle and juxtaposing the letters - then the aha moment.
My YouTube TV subscription ran out and I'm reluctant to pay for another month until I disconnect spectrum tv. Ah the pleasure and pain of sloth.
I'm getting ideas for the ten* J's and two riddle-solutions for Ivanhoe. I want to wrap up Robin Hoods role and get to Coningsburgh for Athelstane's "funeral".
