  1. "Old 'Nan' Did It"
The witch stirred an extra ladle of newt's eyes into the mix.
"That'll make it pungent, quite piquant," she grinned.
"I'd hazard a guess, this is strong, one of the best of me tricks,
and it'll sneak up on ya like a stinkin' ninja and do ya in.
Yeah, by the time ya reach the bottom of yer first bleedin' cup,
ye'll be ready t' cash yer chips in & hang the old gloves up."

  2. "Tiny Tim"

She had served tiny Tim with a ladle,
back when he was still in his cradle.
Now she baked him cookies with ginger
and let him play like a ninja.
He still sometimes wears diapers, but got them
covered with pants on his bottom.
She still keeps him under her guard,
in case he meets any hazard.
As his grandma she is an old hand
    as cheerleader of his band.
Yes, she loves her tiny Tim
and loves taking care of him.

  3. "She" seems a good-spirited grandma, Misty, the sort of well-meaning figure we have come to know and respect.
I gather her grandson is not the famous "Tiny Tim Cratchit" of Dickens' fame. I can't quite make out his age. I see he is not too old for diapers. For some reason I thought of the famous dwarf Tom Thumb--or to give him his full title, as conferred by Barnum, "General Tom Thumb."
I trust this "Tim" will gain normal height some day--and outrank the General who, at his full height, was only 3' 3". (Medical authorities could not account for his failure to grow taller, as his body was entirely proportionate.)
But whatever becomes of your Tim, it is good to know you have supplied him with a loving "cheerleader," a nurturing grandparent to help him along!

  4. Thank you for your kind words about tiny Tim, Ol'Man Keith.

    By the way,

That witch was a nasty old b____.
If she lived here, she'd be out in a ditch.
That sweet little newt was very cute
and not at all a nasty brute.
And when I think about his eyes,
I hope that witch soon up and dies.

My poems are not always kind,
So I hope you didn't mind
my anger at that nasty old witch,
who deserves to be smacked with a switch.

  5. VERY nice, Misty, very nice indeed!

But if you think my Nan was a b***ch,
you better watch out that you don't get your wish!
    She has potions
    & notions
    & lotions
    aplenty,
to get back at witch-hunters (of whom there are many),
by cursing their fortunes! So watch out, my friend,
    that she won't pursue you
    to cue you
    to "Boo-hoo"
    no end!

  7. No, no-- that would be worse!
    Don't reject your verse!
    No need to run;
    stick to your gun.

I'll talk with Nan; we'll have a word.
    She'll understand, she's not absurd.
She'll make allowance for your passionate heat
and expect you to hold & not claim defeat.
Give me a chance; I'll talk to that gal
and let her know you're my good pal.

  8. The witch insisted "It must be 'Eye of Newt'"
Polly protested "But the little guy's so cute!"
And her sister likewise was bereft,
"Hush girls", said the hag. "Or I'll scalpel the eft"
