The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

  1. "Sorry Subject"
I judge it too late to finish the verse I started to write.
I couldn't bring it home to its berth though I labored all the night.
I had in mind a piece on adding modules to my Shakespeare garden,
but that pot wouldn't boil; my ideas wouldn't gel or harden.
I got halfway through, and it was a sorry snore-fest,
as unlikely as a cactus in the middle of a rainforest.

  2. "Jason, the Jerk"

I didn't want Jason to judge
what he thought of my freshly baked fudge.
He saw everything as a module
that he ridiculed as dumb and not cool.
When my sister and I bought a cactus
he criticized and never backed us.
Whatever we had on our berth
he considered as having no worth.
    On every single subject
he would question us and object.
    We finally decided his chatter
    just simply didn't matter.
    Jason was just a jerk
and getting rid of him would be a perk.

  3. Looks like Jason got a well-deserved comeuppance, Misty!
Maybe when he runs for president his nieces and nephews--and cousins & Exes & such--will all publish tell-all books!
They may not turn his rabid base against him, but the rest of us are happy to see justice dispensed,
    even in micro-doses,
    even delayed.

  4. OMK, so sorry to hear you worked so hard
on a poem planting modules in your bard yard.
But at least you tried your best,
and thankfully got a good snore-fest.

  5. I never got around to solving the jumble today. Too preoccupied with no longer having a phone. Won't go into it.

But, OMK, I read your comment on the Corner, and couldn't agree with you more about the posted jumble solution -- a new low, I think.

  6. Nice to see you checking in, Sandy, and I hope Wilbur and Owen will return this weekend, too.

  7. I actually got four J's and the riddle-solution today(actually yesterday)

Got tied up. Thanks Misty and OMK for your poetic work.

Yes as Sandy said the riddle-solution was really lame

  8. Glad you caught my complaint, Sandy.
I wondered what you thought, as you often weigh in on the success or failure of the Jumble solution. Yeah, this was a doozy, wasn't it?
I tried very hard to make it work, but then thought Why should I work so hard to help them out...?
Like Misty's Jason, this solution was a Jerk.
