Sorry, no J4 puzzle today||
|| divide, online, cozier, utmost, inhale, leeway, "clothes"-minded.
Image from the Internet.
The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.
My apologies for posting so late. It's about 4 hours later than I usually get the J4 info, but still nothing! My main source just has "coming soon", my backup source has Saturday's puzzle listed for today, and a google search showed other possible sources likewise either blank or with Saturday for Sunday. On the plus side, the Sunday colorist has either been fired or retrained, so we have a legible color picture.
ReplyDelete"Home Sweet Home"
ReplyDeleteBonnie had to decide
where she wanted to reside.
She found apartments online
and some looked tidy and fine.
But a small house might be cozier
and make her future look rosier.
Did she want to live on the coast?
Of her choices, not the utmost.
Her options had such a divide
she just wanted to put them aside,
though in the end she decided
not to be so close-minded.
She didn't want to fail,
and took a deep breath to inhale.
And in the end her best leeway
was simply at home to stay.
That made her Mom very happy
and also cheered up her Pappy.
They were joyful for their Bonnie,
who would now save lots of money.
No poetry from me today. At least not intentionally.
ReplyDeleteI'm remembering the Sabbath!
Owen ~ Sorry you're forced into a long vigil. I am still here as audience, and I only get the J4 here, thanks to you.
Yes, the new colorful J6 is excellent!

A fine job, Misty, finding a theme to connect all those random words! I think this was one of the most disparate lists we have seen, yet you made fine sense of them in your search for a place to live.
ReplyDeleteAnd in the end, you gave us a classic conclusion: There's no place like home!

Things couldn't be cozier for Rowena, for her one love,
ReplyDeleteWifred of Ivanhoe, her beloved, the one she placed above
All others, was hers, undivided. Then suddenly there was the Jewess, Rebecca. A sharp inhalation of breath at the very suddenness
Of her appearance was followed by joy at seeing the one she owed
The utmost to. "My Lady", [Rebecca exclaimed,] I here bestow
In everlasting thankfulness, this priceless carcanet*.
Jewels no longer have value to me, it is yours, sans regrette.
Forgive the leeway to come before you this one last time.
I wanted to come when Wilfred was off on the battle line
With his liege Lord Richard. I too am off, but to Spain."
"But Rebecca, you are welcome to stay", Rowena exclaimed,
"Safely and much loved here with us". But Rebecca had a closed mind.

*Neck lace, with ear-jewels, of diamonds, which were of immense value.
And rightfully so, Wilbur. Rebecca would never be able to be safe in England, right?
ReplyDeleteThank you, as always, for your kind comment, Ol' Man Keith.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Wilbur, I just can't believe how you work all the Jumble Words and the solution into your complex and always interesting legends! A great job!
Sandy, this is how Rebecca put it
ReplyDelete“Lady,” said Rebecca, “I doubt it not—but the people of England are a fierce race, quarrelling ever with their neighbours or among themselves, and ready to plunge the sword into the bowels of each other. Such is no safe abode for the children of my people. Ephraim is an heartless dove—Issachar an over-laboured drudge, which stoops between two burdens. Not in a land of war and blood, surrounded by hostile neighbours, and distracted by internal factions, can Israel hope to rest during her wanderings.”
Ye-es!
ReplyDeleteI mean, not having read Ivanhoe, I can't really know, but it seems to me that Rebecca really puts Rowena to shame! Wicked smart lady.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent contribution today, Sir Wilbur!
ReplyDeleteRebecca's gift is a magnificent gesture. Does it serve as the final installment?
I'm a little uncertain if that last line works. Did you mean to say by her "closed mind" that her decision was a determined one?-- or that she was shutting out other's thoughts and only wanting to prove herself right?
