  1. Well, as one not that conversant with pop stars, I have just now learned her real name -- I think!

  2. I've got a low-res b&w version available at 11pm Mountain time, a high-res b&w version and a low-res color version available at 2am mdt. So a couple hours after the initial posting, I can give you the best of all three. Do you like this arrangement, or would you prefer I skip one to give a more compact arrangement?

  3. I like high-res, and I know others really like color, so how about the two that are available at 2am?

  4. I'll go with Sandy, Owen.

    "Echolocation"
It was foggy on the canal, blindingly hard to see.
The skipper had to adapt, to rely on horn blowback.
From the galley up to the parlor, from windward out to lee,
the crew kept strictly silent, each & every man-jack.

Out on the bank, the mule team took care
to follow the wary track of "Gaga," the lead mare.

  5. Owen, what's easiest for you. What you gave us today is fine. I have six days as a tbtimes Sunday insert so I usually do the J the day before

OMK, lovely poem today. I'm not a water guy but I understood the hazards of foggy navigation and the wisdom of asses

  6. [Lois is reminiscing with Chet about the early days ]
When I saw you in that seedy bar you were quite the foggy fellow
You were jittery, confused, all uptight, now you've become quite mellow
The key for your adapting was following sponsor suggestions
He kept you on an even keel, not gaga, and answered all your questions

I knew you on the right path when I saw you slaving in the galley
While the folks were socializing in the parlor, all pally-wally

  8. "Rob's Jobs"

    Robert no longer robs,
    he now has many jobs.
Some days he works in a parlor
where he has to evict a quarreler.
One spring he worked on a galley
where with sailors he would dally.
He once had to walk a doggy
in a town where each morning was foggy.
To each job he had to adapt,
to work hard, and make sure he napped.
But his favorite gig in his saga
    was working for Lady Gaga.

  9. Ha!
I was waiting to see how we would treat "Gaga," and I wasn't disappointed.
We three "regular" poets found individual ways to interpret it--and Misty sailed home with the original in her final zinger!

Wilbur, I enjoyed learning that Chet was pitching in, slaving away in that galley while other folk blithely carried on. Shows a nice even temper, to handle that disparity.
I got a kick out of your describing them as all "pally-wally."
(At least they didn't go all the way into "pallsy-wallsy" territory.)

Misty ~ Nicely rhymed throughout. Robert had a LOT of jobs, but it is good to know he didn't return to that first gig.

  10. Thank you, Ol' Man Keith. Yes, I'm very relieved that Robert didn't go back to his old days and ways.
Your delightful rhyme was a pleasure as always--and I can never believe how you work all the Jumble words into it--especially with your favorite pet, your lead mare Gaga today.

Wilbur, you too worked all the Jumbles and solution into your delightful Lois conversation with Chet. What a sweet memory she has. I'm becoming a real fan of hers.

  11. "pallsy-wallsy", I like that better but it didnt quite rhyme.

I recalled my first year. Got up at six am, traveled across Boston over the mystic River Bridge, worked until 4pm, drove an hour to COBOL school, at 830-10 was at the meeting and while the rest crowded around, all palsy-walsy I was putting away chairs.

    Poo, poo, me
