The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.
"(Old) Navy-Gation"
ReplyDeleteAboard the Dutch fluyt, Mayflower,
they held it an axiomatic jewel
to keep the cosmos on their side
whatever their new laws might betide.
Anyway, the leaders invoked a higher power
before enacting each new rule.
They especially called on God to guide
the ship to dock safely, with pilgrim pride.

ReplyDeleteThe challenge of the examination
at first felt like a devastation.
But Max had a helpful axiom:
when you need it, do it with a chum.
So he invited his best friend bloke
to help him resources invoke:
several books they bought and stacked,
many examples they worked to enact.
And so, on that difficult, nerve-wracking day
Max passed his exam anyway.
Having managed that tough examination
clearly required a celebration,
with the friends enjoying a terrific time
sharing and drinking a bottle of wine.
Your Max and his pal enjoyed a nice transition, Misty, from the labors of test prepping to the imbibing of wine!
ReplyDeleteYou express it well. This is the arc that should be traced by all of life's trials--the hardship of each challenge to be followed by the victory celebration.
Until peace at last.
