The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.
ReplyDeleteFrom miners to bakers, it’s a leap in occupations. My new folk are publishing a cookbook now.
Miners are exacting sorts, whereas print-focused bakers are…
“Bumbly Peeps”
This cookbook lobbies for the Glencore brand.
Its cover blurb gives a warm greeting—
claims it bakes its goodies in an all-copper pan,
the “metal for uniform heating.”
The bakery likes the golden red sheen,
and copper (lined with tin) is easy to clean!

"Year-end Celebration"
ReplyDeleteBobby's favorite hobby
was his annual New Year's Eve lobby.
He put his welcoming party blurb
into mailboxes on the curb.
The bakery delivered cookies and cakes
and for the coppers he provided cokes and milk-shakes.
All the people arrived, both skinny and chubby
and found bottles of ready champagne bubbly
as well as bottles of beer.
Then they all joined a New Year's cheer,
full of joy and hope and elation
at this wonderful year-end celebration.
Well, Ol' Man Keith, we're sadly seeing the possible end of our Jumble. I'm always so happy to see Sandy check in with us. But today, sadly, no Sandy, Wilbur, or Owen, just yet. I'll keep checking, and will be so happy and grateful to have one of our group come by to say hello and give us their always delightful offering of the day.
ReplyDeleteI like how the rhythm of your "chubby/bubbly" couplet is undercut by the short "beer" line.
ReplyDeleteIt's unexpected, which makes it fun.
And you used a secondary meaning for "copper" (just as I did for "lobby"). Cool.

I guess at this point any third post will be welcome.
ReplyDeleteSo. . .
I will not be drinking champagne tonight, a very quiet night, as I'm not a very bubbly person at any time.
I do hope that 2022 will see positive events for individuals and for the world.
Thank you so much for checking in with us, Sandy.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely quiet evening, and we too wish for a positive 2022!
