The coffee shop was having a busy morning,
ReplyDeleteCustomers streaming, coming and going.
Some doing their morning moaning, others
Looking forward to a day of their druthers.
Their frame of reference decided their mood,
Was their job bitter, or creamy smooth?
Their coffee could express their day,
Double espresso, or a soothing de-café.
And then there were the adventurers,
Willing to test out their caveat emptors.
Ordering fusions and infusions, et alia
From the shop's caffeine pharmacopoeia!

created an illusion
that caused some confusion.
Her lips were foaming
and she was moaning.
Her fantasies were steamy
but also dreamy
that her coffee was creamy.
But life was the same
when she woke up knowing
that she was going rowing
and was able to frame
her boyfriend's name.
Quite a success this morning from our Maestro Owen—strong technically and thoroughly balanced in its theme.

Misty’s Connie is running the gamut of unpleasant after-effects from her head-wise bonk!

Can't quite believe how you work Jumbles into a two-line-plus-title verse, Ol' Man Keith. Everything was there except possibly 'moaning'--although I may just not be seeing or registering it. Anyway, a morning (not 'moaning') delight.

ReplyDeleteAnd I loved the last two lines but had to look up 'pharmacopoeia' (did I spell that right?) to make sure I got them.
Like when chewing on a corny gag, Misty, I figured every reader would be "moaning" their way through my starchy piece.

Wilbur, we know that Chet loves Lois. Glad she seems to care about him, too.
ReplyDeleteI know that AA is not designed as a dating service, but how lovely that Chet and Lois got together.
Since you paired them today, Wilbur, I have to say the realms of the Nibelungen and AA are... er, world's apart.
ReplyDeleteChet is lucky to have met Lois through AA, even though they have some restrictions on dating.
But his challenges are nothing compared to what a gentleman must face in the Norse/Germanic tradition. Those old gals are a little more demanding. Whether wooing Kriemhild or Brunhild or going for an ordinary shield maiden, a guy must either overcome the fierce "protection" of her menfolk or prove his worth by out-wrestling, higher-jumping, spearing targets--or maybe jump over a ring of fire just to get a kiss!
They didn't take marriage lightly. If you were a guy who wanted a bride, you'd pretty much have to wipe out the woman's family and beat her into submission before the happy day.
