Chet dreamed of his future life with Lois and being a father.
The misuse of his precious youth often put him in a lather
Which was a rarity since he stayed within himself knowing That outrageous emotions were seeds not worth sowing.
Likewise he knew it was wise that he avoid casinos
For gambling and the mindset it induced were among the AA no-nos.
Chet hoped that his second year of sobriety would bring much
Growth and a new serenity. Of course marrying Lois was to be...
The finishing touch
Talk about rarities.. Wilbur as first up is a record. Fln, Sandy we were all kidding around about Chet being a jumble blog reader and Lois being touchy about any other women in his life.
Misty cleared things up with Lois very nicely in a neat couplet. So naturally all the nice things you've opined about his growth, though completely innocent...
I had my most trouble with #4 and going back to bed I came up with the riddle-solution
Funny how that works. I'm hoping to see how Owen in his inimitable, imaginative way will handle today's J's.
Misty will somehow link a disastrous gambling story with a happy romantic ending.

"Betting Setting"
The casino was run by his father
who refused to allow any misuse,
but he did allow customers within
to let kin sit in and play gin.
All this charity made problems a rarity
and gave the place considerable popularity.
As a result there was rarely an outage
which everyone appreciated much,
and gave the casino a finishing touch.
Wilbur, did I skip the part where Chet and Lois got engaged? Chet seems to know that they'll be married.
