You've heard about Superman, the Man of Steel,
And Iron Man, in a suit with robotic feel.
But now be ready for the ultimate superhero
He's Metal Man, half-and-half for real!
When he comes on a theft that is in progress
He'll jump right in to stop the process!
One fist is steel, the other is ... tin?
The miscreant will hardly ever win!
He has his faults, to be blunt and honest:
His brain is cement, tho it once had promise.
But he's shown his mettle, many medals are his,
Metal Man's main asset is -- he's alliterative!
If you didn't catch it, I posted a poem for yesterday's Jumble Very late last night.
I like this homophonic pun a lot. If it wouldn't be meddling in jumblers' business, I might even give it a gold medal!

“To Steal Your Love”
(Or is it “steel”? Are we talkin’ metal or mettle?)
To cement our love,
no theft’s required. Bluntly, it’s
mainly se(n)-TI-ment...

Keith, no fair using the long subtitle. Were you aware that your title is also a haiku? 17 syllables.
And why the weird parsing cementing "sentiment" together? It would have been just fine without the "hey, lookit here.
"Forgiveness"
Francis was frank and very blunt:
his friend's action was no stunt.
He displayed considerable mettle
making it clear he would not yet settle
with his friend, who had bereft
him of a small fortune, with his theft.
He mainly asked the thief to repent
since he would gladly the money have lent.
And only if the thief did relent
could they their friendship re-cement.
In response, his friend did apologize
and return the money along with a prize
and admit that Frank's forgiveness
had been a kind and thankful surprise.
Misty ~ Looks like Francis' critique had more than the desired effect. To get his money back "along with a prize" is what I call a Crackerjack result!
Sometimes human nature reveals its better self.

Once again Wow! Couldn't believe they would all be there, yet once again-- but there they were: all the Jumble words and solution in both Owen's and Ol' Man Keith's poems.
Liked the metallic set-up of your Metal-Man, Owen, and the last word of your verse totally cracked me up!
What a sweet love poem, Keith, though it was hard to know if your suitor stole love, or only hardened it like steel? Either way, sentiment saved the day.

Maggie Report...
Our Golden is getting her pins to work. She still sleeps a lot and needs help sometimes to go out to pee, but she is now off of the pain meds and capable of standing on her own.
When there is a treat on offer in the next room, she will get to her feet by herself and charge a few steps to get it.
AND yesterday she got up and went outside on her own--to rest in the sun.

OMK, sounds like a very reassuring recuperation. Glad Maggie is on the mend. Given another week or so, she should be almost back to normal.
