The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.
To save paper, the City Council printed up its order-of-business as a handout for reporters.
ReplyDeleteAn unexpected time-expediter!
“Printed on Each
Space-Saver Program:”
This agenda morphs
into a press release. (That
gotcha attention!)

You did it again, Ol' Man Keith--worked all the Jumble words and solution into your clever haiku. Liked your evoking the notion that a space program might help to save paper, at least in the printing business producing handouts.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Misty, can’t lay claim to much in the way of aesthetic pleasure.
ReplyDeleteBut if Gov’t agencies were required to adopt the discipline of haiku, I imagine we would save forests,
erase bureaucratic gobbledygook,
and take years off taxpayers’ reading time.

Well we're not getting much company today, sadly.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you, Owen, Wilbur, and Sandy? We miss you.
Looks like dear Misty is enjoying a well-deserved day off.
ReplyDeleteNobody has earned the right to a holiday more than she has. I don't believe she has skipped a single day--for submitting a poem, that is--in over two years!
She and Owen are largely responsible for keeping this site thriving.
Let me raise a chorus in her honor of Brava! Brava!! BRAVA!!!
And may I request that all the "regulars" return to Welcome her back the next day she posts a poem?
~ OMK
I meant to post this
ReplyDeleteYesterday, at CC, there was a link to Joseph Campbell(1000…). Ironically, I had the same thematic thought: That's Misty!
She starts with A, the protagonists' status quo, then an event occurs upsetting the balance, then the happy ending. The Iliad in a nutshell.
And FLN, perfect. All the elements of classic literature: The suitor screws up(Achilles), repents and redeems himself.
I had to lookup #3 as it was unusual for jumble. As was #1 to some extent

[Lois is waiting for Chet to finish up with the Sponsor tree confab]
ReplyDelete{I'm so grateful to the program for helping me get sober and bringing me Chet
But some of these birds bring to the halls their own private agendas
They press on with malarkey and their shares are no-enders.
Here's my man now.} "Gotcha a space, Hon, are you done with Ed yet?"
"Perhaps with time he'll morph into a fine, upstanding, sober guy
But as far as doing further research on Step I, I'll never fathom why"

Well, Lois and Chet are clearly comfortable in their relationship. I hope it never ends!
ReplyDeleteWilbur ~ I agree with Sandy.
ReplyDeleteLois seems to be establishing her territory!
I gotta hunch Chet is equally possessive.

Wonderful to have you back, Wilbur--along with Lois and Chet.
ReplyDeleteAnd nice to see you too, . I always look forward to your first post on our blog, and worried when I didn't see it this morning. So thanks for checking in!
And, OMK, thank you for that very kind and generous BRAVA on a day when I couldn't come up with a verse.
