The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.
Except she didn't demonstrate it, but simply explained it. Nitpickery, I guess. So my objection is really to the cartoon, not the solution. The solution itself is a pretty clever idea.
ReplyDeleteTime to cash in on my 2nd extra day off…

Aren’t you overdue
for a holiday, my man?
“Why yes—Yes, I am!”

ReplyDeleteShe thought she'd hire a lawyer
to sue the buyer
who sold her a poodle
who was off his noodle.
The pup did toddle,
but was not a role model.
His tempo was moldy and slow,
and his temper was full of woe.
But then she fed him a noodle
and now he's a happy poodle.
(Verses don't get any sillier than this)
Wordle took me til guess five today. Used my favorite "stare" as a starting word, but have to keep reminding myself not to leave yellow letters where they are! Grr!!

ReplyDeleteMy retriever, no deceiver,
ain't no poodle,
but loves a noodle.
Sorry to read your pup won't go.
Her vitals all show
her as "moldy" and slow
(such bad stats being semper
signs of distemper).
I suspect
that's what you get
when your seller
(a double-dealin' feller),
is also your buyer--
that duplicitous liar!

My youngest son has a cat named noodle; she was named after the pool toy she likes to play with. She adopted him and his wife when they moved in Chattanooga.
ReplyDeleteIs it me, or are Saturdays meant to be the easiest Jumbles of the week.
The cartoonist was probably afraid to be sued by Cindy Crawford in our litigious world.
Wow! I can't believe it, OMK: not a haiku but a complex and lovely verse in response to my offering today. I loved it! Thank you so much for this weekend gift!
ReplyDeleteSorry I never got in here until now. On top of the CC I had packing(c my CC posts), Derby, Celtics etc)
ReplyDeleteI didn't even do wordle
I think the only predictable jumble difficulty is Sunday but usually early week ones are easier.
