The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

On the seventh day we see
no J-Verse from me.

Got it up, just 4 1/2 hours late. Not sure if I'll be able to put up the solution at closing time, so would whoever posts first after that time this afternoon, please include the solutions in your post without embedding them.
ReplyDeleteWell, I almost signed out this morning too, but now I'm glad I stuck with to keep the tradition going (even if a bit lame).
ReplyDelete"Wine Tasting"
The gaggle of sailors did attest
that the white wines were among the best.
But the lines were very long
and made them feel they did not belong.
Waiting in line was not their style
and the whole business felt pretty futile.
But when they were offered a gallon of wine
they all broke into a smile.
So now they felt they could belong
and their wine tasting is still going strong.
Very clever, Ol' Man Keith, using a J-verse to tell us you're not posting a J-verse.
ReplyDeleteDid the Wordle late last night/early this morning and it took me all six tries AGAIN!
ReplyDeleteThe jumble was easier, once I got all the letters. But I would alter that caption to "he and his equipment were . . .".
That's me, Sandyanon!
ReplyDeleteI lost my avatar!!

Let's see what Chet and Lois are up to.
BTW. For those who like poems check out CC for my effort.
Also, Misty, that was a great post at CC with various words embedded
My verse was exactly the way it happened at Dennys
Also, Misty, wonderful poem today.

Ps, Sandy, did you like the riddle-solution today. Pretty good wordplay, eh.
Anybody ever have moonshine,? I sent a text to Chet asking him if he imbibed in his dorm days.
WC
Dear Wilbur, this is your Jumble pal, The happily sober, Chet
ReplyDeleteSo glad for your interest in all things AA and especially my pet.
I'm speaking of Lois of course and yes we're still going strong.
Regarding our imbibing in school we'll one night an oblong
Box appeared and in it was a gallon of moonshine liquor
In no time we were like a gaggle of drunken sailors
I'd like to attest that I learned my lesson that night
But it's futile to deny, it took me years to see the light
WC
Wilbur, thank you, thank you, for your incredibly kind comments about my entries today.
ReplyDeleteThey absolutely made my day and cheered up what might have been a dull and slightly sad Sunday!
And how wonderful that you didn't forgo having Chet give us a sweet and supportive verse.
Cute to have him call Lois his pet, and so glad that he survived that terrible night when he and his classmates all got smashed on that gallon of moonshine. Neat to see all the Jumble words carefully worked in there, and especially comforting that Chet and Lois are still going strong.
oops, I see you're way ahead of me. Thank you again. When I did select all I hit paste not copy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer. My point was although a plethora of pop-cul clues they were perpable but the clever clueing, fe. GIG etal had to grok'ed

Sandy ~ Which post did you want deleted? Is it already gone? If not, tell me which one according to its time stamp. I can delete it & also your requesting posts.
ReplyDeleteWilbur & Misty ~ Excellent verses today. Sorry I didn’t join in, but I have cut my holidays down to just needing one more. Maybe next weekend, eh?
BTW Misty ~ That was a haiku, yes, but NOT a J-verse.
I seem to be lucky with this *#@! WeirdLe.
