The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

Drama at Nora's garden
ReplyDeleteAnd there was Holly across the patio, barely the width of the yard
Chet gave Lois a nudge and whispered wickedly, 'It won't be so hard'
Lois was seized with a sudden headache accented by a surge of fear
"I won't kneel to the bitch" she thought, and said
"So nice to see you, Holly , my dear".
It helps to get the first letter

"Proposal"
ReplyDeletePeter's act had great appeal
when to propose to his love he did kneel,
and to also thank her for helping
his wicked headache to heal.
She did not for a second relent
to say "Yes" with her British accent.
The width of her smile made him
hardly want to react tardily.
So he told her, "Let's not tarry,
it's time for us to marry."

Looks like maybe proposal was on both of our poetic minds this morning, Ol' Man Keith.
ReplyDeleteBut, Wilbur, it looks like that's certainly not what Lois had in mind, is it? Also quick Wordle from you this morning.
Misty, you were ready for wordle right off the block
ReplyDeleteLois' thoughts and actions were certainly different.
Two sub plots parallel themselves in Nora's garden.

Yep, Wilbur, it does help to get the first letter!

Misty, good job! We're almost tied.
Neat poem today. I'd say your Peter and his love are certainly in harmony on the proposal track.
But my narcissist might just be facing his mirror, reaching for the body oil.
Bodybuilders spend a lot of time alone.
Oh, and I get a clearer picture, Wilbur, of what you were explaining to me yesterday--seeing Lois now preparing for action.
If she were an actor, we'd say she means to cover up her subtext. Just how much she succeeds--and to what degree--would define her art.

LOL Misty. I came at the Wordle from the other direction on my first word. But it took two more tries. Congrats on your quick solve!

I’m still catching up on chores from Thursday, but don’t seem to have lost much in my frig or freezer thankfully.
I just finished the CW (well, threw in the towel!) and DH hasn’t finished the Jumble yet. I may be back.

ReplyDeleteBeady eye,
ReplyDeletePirate accent,
Hardly the width of a plank,
Kneel to meet your Maker.
No, just a wicked headache.
Not bad yourself, CEh!, on your Wordle solve.
ReplyDeleteI guess it helps that this was an easier one. I am a bit surprised to get the last two on my first try.
I knew the first letter on this one, & I thought WC used a variant in his post—but I still don’t do it if I’ve seen the answer.
Your piratical monologue was funny. Thanks for that.
Sorry about the headache, if that was you speaking, & not Cap’n Blackbeard.

Glad you were still able to give us a neat Pirate verse in the end, Canadian--many thanks for that.
