The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

  1. "Peaceful Pet"

    Tony used an animal totem
as a symbol on his modem.
He liked soaking in his sauna,
but he also loved flora and fauna.
But though his love of wildlife seemed quaint,
his friends considered him a saint
when he adopted a droopy panda
and housed him on his veranda.
The quiet pet caused no pandemonium
and Tony got cheers and warm encomium.

  2. Hmmm. I wrote this last night, and it seems we have a different perspective on the darling Chinese bear.
    __________

Neither porpoise nor panda nor pangolin
may be said to be floppy at all.
    So…

”I Phase the Phirst Phing I Phind!”

    My quaint old modem
    searched for “droopy fauna,” and
    found—a basset hound.

  3. Yep, you did it again, Ol' Man Keith--worked all four Jumble words into your brief verse. Well, at least that produced no PANDA-MONIUM!

  4. Woohoo! I got today's Wordle on my third try!
A huge blessing after not getting it in five tries yesterday.

  5. Congratulations, Misty!
I'm glad you've come out on top of Wordle today--and did not let yesterday's setback faze (sp?) you at all!

As for your Tony, he seems a good-hearted Nature-lover. His adoption of a panda would seem to give a lie to the belief that all the world's pandas are owned by China.
(Unless, of course, he got his "on loan.")

Thank you for the compliment on my verse.
Did you try saying my title out loud?

  6. Just for ducks, I entered the right letters in the wrong places in level one, just to see what it looks like.

With a Saturday J. Got 2 and just had to piece(sic) it out and get on the right plane

My mind is still on Saturday's J not to speak of the ordeal I had with the xword. How many hints do you want?

    Oops, Owen may be peeking

They threw some heavy pop-cul as if it wasn't obscure enough.

  9. Let's return to C&L

[Chet didn't get the answer to "The Big Problem". He's with Lois prior to the Saturday night meeting]
"Oh Chet, I enjoyed our trip to the zoo with the flora and fauna
And that panda drooping from the tree was a fitting sequel.
But your apartment is very cool. Outside's like a sauna.
And your iced tea with lemonade has no equal."

"My my, you still use a modem? That's so quaint.
And what's that trophy for , it looks like it's been restored"
"I actually won it at a Spelling Bee. My mother was floored.
And when I spelled chiaroscurist I was ready to faint."

"So what do you think Charles's problem is, Chet, graft?"
"No, it has to do with our matrimonium. I think he's daft"
He's making me feel inept. Let's get to the bottom of the thing"
"No matter what he says", Chet, I'm not returning the ring.

    1. I should have mentioned that I used Saturday words along with Friday.

Hope this brings Sandy over. Sandy I have about six C&Ls since your last input
