The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.
If anyone’s feeling gloom-y,
ReplyDeletehere’s a haiku to amuse thee..
“Past Tense of False Weight, or
Mis-Wrought at the Butcher shop”
One button skimps an
ounce; another is a thumb
stranded on the scale.

BTW, I started as usual with a j-word
"Cagey Candidate"
ReplyDeleteBill poured himself an ounce
of gin, which made his spirits bounce.
To keep his energy from getting limp
he decided never his liquor to skimp,
or to button his comments when he took the stand
on issues that did many voters strand.
And so he did blast many events,
and his election is now past tense.
Woohoo! I got the Wordle in three tries:

Did you read my first line, above?
ReplyDeleteMisty, your Bill seems to be an expert witness—
Or at least a fluent one.
I trust he is also a frequent guest of our judicial system.

OMK, I wasn't feeling gloomy, but your haiku did still amuse me--many thanks.
ReplyDeleteWell, I figured that when folks noticed that Bill was a bit smashed when he gave his election speeches, they decided not to vote for him. But what do I know--I wasn't there.
OIC. I mis-read your poem, and thought he was the witness at trials. I thought "took the stand" was a clue, but I did not see how you were using "voters" in the next line.
ReplyDeleteMy bad.
