    Cobalt piglets need
    to be watched—oozing a sense

  3. "Silly Gift"

Walter gave her a cobalt watch,
along with a bottle of Scotch.
    To make their engagement commence,
these gifts seemed to make good sense.

In return, his love gave him a piglet,
a present he would never forget.
He laughed at this silly gift case,
which got their engagement off at a fun pace.

  4. LOL, Misty, I suppose the emphasis in your 4th line must be on the equivocater, “seemed.”
    Wouldn’t a cobalt watch be a carcinogen?
“The time? It’s half past a rash, almost 20 to a pimple!”

But a piglet would be wonderful. Walter lucked out in that exchange!
Have you been to the piglet races at the OC County Fair? They run their little feet off!
    Leaping, rolling—they define “Frolic”!
This year I couldn’t go, but my wife and her mom did. They brought home a lovely photo of the two of them posing with the winning pig.
I asked if there was any trouble getting him to look straight in the camera, to pose.
    “No, he was very professional.”

  5. OMK, all I learned about cobalt was that it was blue, so I'm sorry to hear it may cause rashes and pimples.

Loved your story about that piglet at the Orange County Fair, and, especially, your wife's professional answer.

Well, I posted a terrible Wordle this morning, five or six tries, but it didn't register. Sounds like maybe the same problem CE was having yesterday.

I'm going to an outdoor supper with three friends as the Sapphire eatery downtown here in Laguna this evening. Am looking forward to it, but it makes for a busy day. Hope you have a good one, OMK.

  6. Your supper plans should be very pleasant. But I understand how an evening event can crowd your day.
I believe you deserve an additional hint for this Wordle, as it is (IMHO) a bit of a awkward usage.
If I have ever used a version of this word (I am not sure I have), I would have spoken it as a noun, dropping the “Y” on the end. That’s what turns it into an adjective.
I think the word was suitable for the young Schwarzenegger.

    Have a lovely evening!

  7. Oh, I think I mis-read your note about Wordle, Misty!

I took you to mean you weren’t able yet to finish.
But you meant you weren’t able to post your result—that you were censored—didn’t you?
    Sorry that happened.
It hasn’t hit me yet. I don’t know what’s going on, but it is strange following so quickly Owen’s warning to me.

  8. Yes Misty, I posted my Wordle result this morning. It was the third comment.
    Gone now!??
    Something is afoot!

  10. I am sorry, CEh!, that you are having a hard time posting your Wordles.
And now Misty is also coming under fire. It is a mystery, one that seems calculated to induce paranoia in lesser persons.
I expect I will be next. I don't know why I have been spared this long.

BTW, congratulations on today's Wordle!-- both for solving it in 4 (a tricky, mostly unused word) & for finally getting it posted past whatever censoring device has you in its sights.

  11. OMK and CanadianEh!, we were now able to post our two morning Wordles. Maybe there was just some silly problem with the Jumble operation this morning? But then it cleared up later in the day? Very confusing--wish we could figure out what's going on. But, still good news that it finally worked. Let's see how it goes tomorrow.

  14. Okay, my third Wordle try just posted. Let's see if it stays after I post this message.

  15. So weit, so gut!
Your diagram stayed in place, Misty. You may be right, that there was a gremlin in the works for a particular period of time.
If we all just keep clean minds and good hearts, maybe the snags will go away...

Good job with your W! I know it took five tries, but it really was a tricky word.
And it is just a "bogey"--one over par.
