ReplyDeleteToday’s Jumble haiku:
“Try Wry Spices”
Gabe the Gecko says,
“Garrgh!” to new treats: spicy chex-
cashew hybrids—“Gaack !”

Gecko Restaurant
ReplyDeleteDon’t be leery,
The atmosphere is cheery,
The food is not too spicy-
A hybrid menu of Tex-Mexacali,
No sky-high prices to see.
Eat-in or To-Go,
Just let your waiter know
If you have a cashew allergy.
OMK- I love your title twist of the Jumble.
ReplyDeleteAnd again, we marvel at how you work all those words into a short haiku!
Gaack! indeed!
WC- yes, your choice of B for 1st letter in guess 4 was a stab in the dark.
Where has my Wordle post gone!?
"Fine Dining"
ReplyDeleteSally's diner was not a bit pricey
and the food was delicious and spicy.
She invented a hybrid stew
that she topped with a cashew or two.
Her pet was a gecko of the nicest
who supported her reasonable prices.
The diner's sky-high success
Did Sally and her gecko bless.
Very Funny, Very Funny.
ReplyDeleteWordle 445 Hint: An adjective; two syllables; hesitant, probably for a good reason.
Par = 3

Lucky, plucky Sally’s Diner!
ReplyDelete“Sky-high success,” indeed?!
Misty’s creation is one of the rare two out of ten new eateries to survive at least five years.
The secret, according to CNBC, is location, location, location. I reckon our Jumble page is a winner!
Breakfast, anyone?
So, where is your Tex-Mex restaurant exactly, CEh!?
We wish it well. It seems to have the right ingredients.
You’ve cautioned us not to be leery, but you haven’t (yet) told us how well it’s doing.

Your helpful hint was a big help, Ol' Man Keith--many thanks. Helped me get this Wordle on my second try:

Always love your haiku. Looks like your Gabe had different reactions to his treats today, OMK.
Also hope he didn't have a cashew allergy, if he attended CanadianEh! happy restaurant.
Maybe Wilbur will show up there too, before too long.
Thank you for enjoying my little verse, CanadianEh! I do appreciate the kind words.
ReplyDeleteHey, WC!
Didn’t know you were a fan of Wallace B.!
Did you know he was the highest paid film actor in the early ‘30s?
~ OMK
Didn't Wallace play Captain Hook?
ReplyDeletePs, That's BEERY my penultimate wordle guess.
Could VFVF mean Very Fine*2?
If so thanks
WC
Both Misty and I created an eatery - I guess the words we were given did lead there easily.
ReplyDeleteMy Gecko restaurant is still in start-up stage, just outside of Toronto. It should do well with a little time and more advertising!
WC ~Long John Silver, I think. But he won the Oscar for The Champ!
ReplyDeleteAs for VFVF, check my Wordle post above.
Good luck CEh!—I hear 60% of new restaurants fold by the end of the first year. The odds may be even worse.
We’re pulling for ya!
~ OMK
If he hires the right gecko he'll be well insured
