ReplyDelete“The Optics Closet”
A fairly bright light
slanted from the color prism.
It showed crystal clear.

"Revived Romance"
ReplyDeleteCarol's ring had a crystal color
which made her spirits soar.
She'd been seeing her boyfriend rarely,
but he'd begun to treat her more fairly.
And so she slowly came out of her closet
and they once more now weekly met.
His lovely gift a new slant had made clear
and she again holds her partner dear.
Seems Carol's BF had not been treating her well, Misty, by your account.
ReplyDeleteAt least not in the recent past.
We must respect your choice to keep the details private, only to be told he is now, as they say, "turning a new leaf."
The danger, of course, is that our imaginations are free to run anywhere, perhaps to believe he was abusing her physically,
or even to see Carol as a materialistic gal, easily won over by a shiny ring!
But we know such vulgarities could not have been your intention!

You're completely right, Ol' Man Keith, vulgarities were not my intention, but although the words SLANT, COLOR, CLOSET, FAIRLY, and CRYSTAL CLEAR should have produced a lovely romantic verse, I just couldn't pull it off without lots of doubt, for some reason. I wonder what sort of verse I'd produce if I could ever also choose my own words? I should try that sometime.
ReplyDeleteNow my question is: how does fairly bright light produce a crystal clear color prism in a closet? I still can't quite picture that one.
Woohoo! I think I somehow got today's Wordle in just three tries:

Forgot to say that I think your optic closet is lovely, . Every time I look at it in my mind it becomes brighter and more colorful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Misty.
ReplyDeleteI used "closet" in the sense, merely, of a storage facility.
And the "optics" here as the equipment that produces (among many other things) colorful, prismatic lights.
~ OMK
Congrats on getting your Wordle in just three!
ReplyDeleteI doubt anyone else can better that--
and probably not even Equal it!

Loved seeing your Wordle, Canadian, bit missed seeing any verses or message from you.
ReplyDeleteAnd that goes for you too, Owen and Wilbur--your messages and verses too are always a delight, and we miss them when they don't arrive.
And, Wow! Ol' Man Keith! I just saw your delightfully complimentary comment on my Wordle!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much--you've made my day!
I've had a bad day, don't bother with me.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a long-term resident I'll be.
I want to go home
I want to roam
I want mobile equality!
Loved finally seeing your verse, Owen--delightful, if sad.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this blog a bit of a home for you? If so, think of it as your vacation home!
I got off at the 4th landing on this. Wordle 482 4/6
