  1. Today’s Jumble haiku:
(It is Old Jed’s birthday, and he is possessive of an ancient volume. It seems to have survived several generations. Although covered in leather, it is worn thin in places. He won’t let anyone touch it.
Why is he clinging to it? In his head, this is a noble defense; he almost hears the birthday song…)

    ”Played Anthemly”

    Jed’s album is bound
in old, shabby suede. Its pix
    depict his fam’ly.

  2. Once there was this British chap,
Came to russtle cow and calf.
    He'd start with hay
    In the café
To lure them to his trap!

  4. We visit China today with those cuddly bears, and lotus flowers (and shoes).

    Hey! De panda Sum Lee

    Feet bound,
    She chafed at her plight.
The pictures in the photo album,
    Shabby from years of use,
    Showed her female ancestors
    Similarly beautified.

  6. "Music Mine"

    The success of Annie's album
    was widely praised and bound
to earn a lot of money
    when it hit the ground.

Not shabby, her agents did predict
    they would handsomely be paid
for a long success that would depict
    how well the musicians played.

Yes, the album was a fabulous hit
and did beautifully Annie's ambitions fit.

  7. Did not go to encryption today.
As an everyday thing, it is simply too decadent (not to mention hard, overworked, & time-consuming). But fun—a thing to be appreciated as a neat rarity!

Owen ~ Your British chappie seems a clever bloke; I imagine he had quite the success (and a bovine-filled trappy).

    Enjoyed your rhyming title, CEh!
I’m sure those ancestors look down with pride at the tiny feet of their teeny-toed descendant.
Your poem rings true. Not a misplaced syllable.

  8. I couldn't grok the riddle-solution but OMK's haiku solved it for me

Yep, I prefer our traditional J-poems

  9. OMK- your title was great (especially with the backstory) and matched the Jumble reveal more closely than mine. I agree that encryption is to hard and time- consuming (for both the creator and the decoder) for everyday use. I managed to hide the D word today (but not as close to the original as might be desired).

Misty- you took the album in a different direction, wit( music instead of pix. Also a different use of bound. And thankfully, the J words were more agreeable for you today. Lucky Annie.

Owen- I smiled at the calf cafe. Thanks.

WC- nice Wordle hint. Misty might get it in one guess!

  11. Misty ~ A very nice salute to Annie and her success. I imagine the title of your piece may also grace her album's cover.
A "fabulous hit"? Next stop, the Grammys!
Good luck, Annie! Don't forget to thank all us "little people"!

    Glad to be helpful, WC.
    Nice job on the W.
I did it but hadn't posted yet. No need now. Both you and CEh! got it nicely.
I used the original Bot starter, which made it EZ-PZ. My hint would have been nearly the same as yours.
(I was thinking: if you rub the right way, does the Genie appear?)

  12. Hope you all saw my clue was put the Hay in CAFE, since there were some distractions in there.

  13. OMK, I loved your haiku title today, and you worked all the J words into just your three lines. Bravo!

Owen, enjoyed your aabba verse, and especially the hay/cafe rhyme--very clever!

CanadianEh!, what a sweet, sad panada poem--touched my heart.

Wilbur, I bet your Wordle was brilliant today. I had friends I hadn't seen in years come to visit me and bring me lunch today, and we spent hours reminiscing all the years of our life. As a result I'm still a bit groggy, though I enjoyed that delightful visit to no end, but I'll have to put Wordle off until tomorrow. Still have a note telling me to write down all the words as I proceed.

Appreciated all your efforts today, many thanks.
