Today’s Jumble haiku:
ReplyDelete(Rolling marijuana means one thing. Rolling spruce means something else, but both are possible.
Fir needles resist rolling.
In this way, both pot and spruce may be said to be…)
”Hash Croppers”
Fresh fir-fans spurn spruce

No word yet from our "Distaff" side today.
ReplyDeleteI believe both Misty & CanadianEh are happily occupied with family.
Maybe they'll find time to join us with Jumble later on, but if not, we quite understand.

Good morning, Ol' Man Keith and Wilbur--nice to see you on the blog. I had a tough time yesterday evening and today and was never really able to do work up a Jumble. My late husband's last caregiver, Clauder, still lives here in the evening after working with his clients. But he had surgery a week and a half ago, and has been home recovering until his first doctor appointment since the surgery yesterday afternoon. Just before my last supper with my family, he came home and reported that his doctor had discovered a problem and he had to go to the emergency ward for a procedure last evening. He was scheduled to return home at 12 but didn't actually make it home till 2 am. I was so nervous to have this happen on the last evening with my kids, and didn't get to sleep till after 3 or 3:30 am and then woke up at 7:45 to take the trash out and get the newspaper, and before I got back to sleep my cleaners came at 9:00 to clean the house, and so I didn't get to sleep again until an hour or so ago. It's 12:15 am now--so, so far I've only had about 5 hours of sleep so far. So no Jumble verse, no finished cross word puzzle, no breakfast yet. I'd better get some cereal and rest until the cleaners are done and there's no more vacuum sound and I can maybe get a better nap in the afternoon. I hope my son and his family make it back to San Francisco safely. A busy, chaotic time since last night, and I just hope Clauder will be okay after his second doctor visit today. So my apologies for having nothing to offer, and I wish you all a much better day.
ReplyDeleteWell, it must have helped to have started eating my cereal, because I got the Wordle after only four tries, I think. Maybe I'll get off to a better day after all.

Good afternoon, Misty!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have had a rough time of it. We understand completely why you haven't posted earlier & we only wish you a quiet, comfortable afternoon. You most assuredly deserve a day off!
But it is nice to know you succeeded in snaring today's Wordle.
Isn't it interesting how that picks your spirits up?!
Maybe that is the true worth of these games & puzzles.

Howdy all! My brain got the Wordle- I was pushed into a lucky guess on four!
ReplyDeleteBut I am all tired out after a wonderful day with family-13 of the 15 immediate family (2 missing with Covid). The seven grands (age 3 to 11) had fun playing together. I have my feet up now after cleaning up!
Misty- glad you too had a good time with family. But how distressing re Clauder. I hope that he will be recovering well, and you will feel better tomorrow after a good rest.
Misty, nice job on wordle given your shutout on #1
ReplyDeleteWas AMPLE in there somewhere?
Hope Clauder will be okay
