  1. Keith racked up his shoulder this week.
It sure hurts--it wakes him from sleep.
    This pain he can’t scoff;
    he’s glad it's "Time Off,"
so you won’t hear him curse, “Badda-BLEEP!

  2. She was dressed to the nines, to impress
Latest French fashions; new: a Dior dress
    She was a plate!
    Paparazzi mobbed her mate
Who showed up in overalls, used ones, I guess!

  3. To keep her children healthy, Mrs. Cat did implore
"Keep your paws warm, this rule don't ignore."
Then three little kittens went to play in snow.
They didn't mean to disobey, it really wasn't so.

But in an engulfing snow fight, each mitten went astray.
Where they were buried, the kittens couldn't say.

They informed their mother, paws were snowy cold.
She sent them to look where their fight had been bold.

Searching found them intact in the rumpled snow
And they hurried home to show their paws covered so!
Mother met them at the door, a piece of pie for each.
And they never, ever disobeyed again…
(Well, there was that one time at the beach… )

Don't think it ironic, knitting kitten mittens by the hearth
For every kitten mother who has ever given birth.

  5. "Something to Think About"

    Henry had great wealth
but was becoming poor in health.
So he did his children inform
of his disease, that he had hidden,
and asked them to take care
of his dearest, most favorite kitten.

Letting them know he was on the brink
made the children worry and think
they should engulf him in something tonic,
    not ironic, but something sweet,
    like melodies highly symphonic,
from a band playing on the street.

In the end, a lovely concert they did enact,
and Papa Henry thanked them for their tact.

  6. Think Nothing of Itch

The new kitten was engulfed by love,
Adored by all the members of the family.
    How ironic
When the vet had to inform them,
    That its health was intact,
    But it had fleas!

  7. OMK- wishing you a speedy recovery for that shoulder. I have had bursitis in my shoulder and the pain was not fun!
I used the current Wordle robot word to start, but your vowel- Rich one would have been better.

Owen- I found that Wordle in the designer fashions!
And I loved the kittens and their lost and found mittens. Plus the aside line about the one time at the beach. Cute.
Your last two lines are great!
    “Knitting kitten mittens” indeed.

Misty- good work today. You inverted the solution in your title, encoded the I word, and worked the rest into a thought-provoking poem.
Your Henry was right to let his children know of his poor diagnosis, and his children responded well by wanting to engulf him with sweetness. It sounds like he enjoyed the concert, and commented on their tact in showing their live without being too melodramatic in the face of his impending demise. Bittersweet poem today, in contrast to Owen and my offerings with cherry little kittens. I’m glad that Henry’s kitten will be looked after.

  8. LOL- more typos today.

    vowel-rich
    showed their love
    cheery little kittens

  9. Ol' Man Keith, so sorry to hear about your hurt shoulder, an uncomfortable condition to live with. Take good care of yourself, and thanks for posting on our blog on your off-day Sunday!

Owen, I just loved your first poem, about the ill-dressed couple combining a Dior dress and used overalls! And yours is one of the best kitten verses ever--and there are a lot of those around.

CanadianEh!, so glad that that poor itchy kitten just had fleas! And thank you for the kind words about my verse.

  11. Good Wordle job Misty. Did my hint help?

  12. Owen, another masterpiece.

    Misty, a sweet poem but..
"they should engulf him in something tonic"???
I suppose the love they surround him with acts as a Tonic. Okay

C-eh, very economical use of the J's with the wordle thrown in

I haven't thought of Chet nor Lois all weekend. Saturday xword too tough and busy all day here. I didn't get my latimes until 430

I'll just knock off Monday and go to sleep

OMK, sorry to hear about the bursitis misery. Hope it's better next week
