Today’s Jumble haiku:
ReplyDelete(The broker knows how to market his back bay housing to the Crustacean Fishers’ Association.
He certainly can pitch it…)
“Up Right”
“All tract homes have a
visual fix on the shrimp beds.
It’s a ‘group bargain’.”
~ OMK
ReplyDeleteHope y’all enjoyed the “First/first” yesterday
and have time for today’s Rose Bowl.
I slept like Van Winkle on my weekly break day
& set a new record for a nocturnal black hole.
I woke first at six, unsure it was night,
whether AM or PM, I couldn’t tell.
I went back to sleep when I saw it was light
& slept through, till two rang the afternoon bell.
I rarely sleep more than five hours in all,
so twelve’s an unusual number for me.
I think I’m slept out, but it’s a tough one to call.
I’ll know by next week if I’ve any reason to see
waking hours at night… except to go pee.
~ OMK
I used my flower starter (same as yesterday), then moved to a tale, then got the clothing (but top before bottom).

Don’t be Uptight
ReplyDeleteImagine this visual of London
In the Swinging Sixties.
Jean Shrimpton in a mini-skirt,
Amid a group of models
Contracted for a Vogue photoshoot.
Thanks for your poetic picture, CEh!
ReplyDeleteYou take me right back to my first days in London-town! Ah, that was a time, if ever time was.
And your W starter did the trick. As did ALL your hints; I did it in two—thanks to you!
~ OMK
"Brave Save"
ReplyDeleteThe group had made a pact
to work hard to save their tract.
The visual had made them uptight,
worried they might lose their coup,
but it turned out they had been right,
and cheered with a happy "Woohoo"!
To celebrate they adopted a chimp
and fed him a cookie and a shrimp.
ReplyDeleteMisty ~ Your poem perks me up, with its picture of a group cheering, “WooHoo”!
(All together now—let’s shout it out,
me & you & you,
& you,
rhyming it with our massive coup!)
I am sure that’s one dee-lighted Chimp!
~ OMK
Interesting that the CW today had MINI skirt (and blog comment re Swinging Sixties). I had not done the CW or read the blog before composing here! Great minds?!
ReplyDeleteOMK- I have not travelled in the shrimp catching area, but can imagine your housing with its visual fix.
You should be well rested after all that sleep. I watched the Rose parade. Beautiful!
Owen- Several meanings for the W. Do kilt models worry about the wind?
Misty- WooHoo! What a celebration your group had. And a novel adoption (and food combo). What fun on this second day of the year.
Woohoo! Woohoo! I think for the first time in my entire existence, I got a Wordle on my very first try. Woohoo!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, CanadianEh!, for your helpful hint. You've helped me get my New Year, and my whole new year coming up, off to a great start. Could not have gotten it without your help.
Ol' Man Keith, am always amazed how you get all the Jumble words and solution into your tight haiku--and you did it again this morning. Terrific! (have used up all my Woohoos already, today). And thank you once again for your very kind response to my verse.
ReplyDeleteCanadianEh!, never had a chance to visit London in the sixties, but your verse makes me wish I could have--it would have been a delight. And thanks again for helping me achieve the miracle of my first one try solution to today's Wordle.
And Owen, so sorry to see you so sad in your verse today! Hugs, to help you stop crying.
WooHoo Misty!
ReplyDeleteYou’re welcome.
