Today’s Jumble haiku:
ReplyDelete(Christmas at the home of an aspiring explosives squad technician…)
”Hasta be Past any Blast”
The final prize of
all was a snappy, defused
bomb shell. …. Thanks, Santa.
~ OMK
Impasse
ReplyDeleteIt was the final straw
That caused him to snap.
He knew the prize was rightfully his.
Another layer of complexity
In his attempts to defuse the situation.
OMK- well the J words took us in a totally different direction today. What a present from Santa. Loved your title. We have a lamp made by an uncle of DH from a bomb shell. Not exploded yet!!
ReplyDeleteWC- those rhyming words held up your W solve
"Rhyme Time"
ReplyDeleteFred was a finalist for the prize
which delighted him as a big surprise.
His poem did normal standards defuse
and made readers laugh
with its tries to amuse,
full of lines that were clever and snappy,
and made everyone feel happy.
And so, long after the contest had passed,
Fred still felt it had been a blast.
Misty ~ Your Fred took the prize in more ways than one.
ReplyDeleteMy first attempt to make the J-words cohere was set at a poetry slam. But I couldn’t make that work, so abandoned it.
You managed to bring it off! Kudos!
CEh! ~ Sorry I am your guy felt blocked from his true reward. He seems to have had good intentions, but failed to win recognition, poor frustrated soul!
I feel for him, so long as his “snap” remained non-violent.
~ OMK
My first reading of your post, CanadianEh! confused me. I read “DH” as Damar Hamlin because he is so much in the news.
ReplyDeletePoor soul, we all wish him well!
Just to let you know how codes can sometimes lead us astray…

Can never believe you worked all the J words and solution into your haiku--but once again, there they all were. Well done, Ol' Man Keith. And thank you so much for your kind words about my verse!
ReplyDeleteLiked the way you worked the J solution into your title, and into the gist of your clever verse again this morning, CanadianEh!. Very neat!
Wow! Wilbur, if I have time, I'll have to see if I can match your Wordle this afternoon.
Have a great (if rainy) day, everybody!

Didn’t expect it
to be so simple.
Just one idea on

OMK, I saw this Obituaryfor a Chicago Theater Directot named Frank Galati
ReplyDeletePerhaps you knew him
WC
THANKS for posting the obit, Wilbur. I knew of Frank, of course, but did not know him personally. His production of The Grapes of Wrath was extremely fresh and inventive--and had many imitations.
ReplyDelete~ OMK
[Nora has asked the two for a pre-marriage talk]
ReplyDelete"Lois, it is my hope that we can defuse the prior issues with your mother.
What's has passed is in the past. Nothing's final, the new you she should discover
Perhaps a little shove from me will awaken a new season of family bliss"
Reconciliation is the prize we seek, love reawakened, sealed with a kiss."
[Charles has something to add]
"Chet, ironically I knew your father from my time in the Navy
He was a snappy Ensign at the time though my recollection is hazy.
Holding on to old resentments much like unwanted, unneeded possessions
Isn't positive. Perhaps I can intervene and arrange a healing therapy session."
WC
Well, whatever probs Nora & Charles may have WC, they are offering their good services in intervening with Chet & Lois’ families.
ReplyDeleteThat can only go well—right?
What’s passed has passed, or so the slogan goes!
