  1. Carpe…

There’s a jolly old codger named Keith
who chews with a mouthful of teeth.
He’ll make room for his friends,
    leave Today to their pens,
and with plaudits a Sunday bequeath.

  2. (Warning: poems don't get any sillier than this:)

    "Mike's Mayhem"

Mike's psyche did not handle things kindly
on the day that he turned ninety.

    His family harbored some guys
who bought Mike a dozen ties,
but those gifts did not make him marvel
since he thought their plan was unwise.

Yet though the family hated Mike's role
    and threatened him with punches
in the end they took a different goal
and treated him to a dozen lunches.
