Today’s Jumble haiku:
ReplyDelete(Garlic fed to geese daily will keep them healthy. And overgrown garlic will go to bulbils that can be spread by inattentive web feet. Especially when the goslings shake their “toes”…)
”…Gingerly”
Geese busily plant
garlic without meaning to—
waddling through loose seeds.

Perhaps those geese were aware of the immune benefits of garlic, onions and ginger!
ReplyDeleteOnions Next?
A gardener toiled busily
Planting garlic bulbs so neatly.
Never birds to act gingerly,
Geese dug them up boldly.
The angry gardener rebuked this coldly.
OMK- great work on the Wordle. The bot seems to be effective at picking good starter words.
ReplyDeleteI smiled at your waddling geese. The J words led us both to the garden, but your geese were spreading the garlic, while mine were destroying them.
My rhythm is not too good today, but I was able to rhyme for a change!
Should the day seem gloomy and dark,
ReplyDeleteClouds above that won't depart,
Take comfort an this:
Cold may persist,
But you've always a warm place in my heart!
"Happy Haven"
ReplyDeleteOur niece was a lover of geese
playing gingerly in her yard,
where busily garlic she'd plant,
which gave her a feeling of peace.
Owen- I spy the Wordle, cleverly separated onto two lines.
ReplyDeleteMisty-We are all in the garden today, and I do find it to be a peaceful place, my Happy Haven, as in your title. Alas, I can only dream, as it is covered in snow now. But we have beautiful sunshine today, and my indoor flowers are basking in it on the plant stand.by the south window.
(I noted your niece, geese, peace rhyme.)

If there no non-E word in J I just grab any word that comes to mind. I like the variety and enjoy being stumped a bit. I think I've managed two tries with no hits but then solved in four
I like to save the E for ease of use later
The geese tried to nip me this morning so I balled out the gander

CanadianEh! so glad you're able to enjoy a sunny day with lovely snow blanketing your area outside. Hope it's not too cold and that your weather will stay comfortable and sunny for the rest of the week. And I hope your gardener forgives those intrusive geese.
ReplyDeleteLoved your poem with its sweet ending, Owen--many thanks.
Woohoo! Ol' Man Keith! Woohoo! You're our Wordle winner today with just two lines, and, in addition, you got all the J words and the solution into your incredibly tight and delightful haiku. Mornings don't get any better than this!
Wilbur, glad we both got our Wordle in four tries! Not bad for a Wednesday.
Have a good rest of the week, everybody.
Thanks, Misty, for your appreciation of my slight effort.
ReplyDeleteYour niece runs a nicely balanced garden, ‘tween geese and garlic it seems to include the best of fowl and flora!
