Today’s Jumble haiku:
ReplyDelete(Ah, ‘Dribble,’ Not ‘Drivel’!)
“(A) Flaw, Hollered—(& All) Mine!”
Swishing the ball through,
after he “driveled” court length,
his gloat was ill-timed.

Don't press your luck
And muck things up.'

"Good Guy"
ReplyDeleteGus did happily gloat
about the time he spent on a boat.
He enjoyed taking a sauna,
and playing with the pet fauna.
He was kind and very civil
and never engaged in drivel.
He carefully obeyed the law
and no financial swoosh saw.
Because he was a scholar
he took care to save every dollar.
Gus shines with so many good signs,
that his friends toast him with wines.
The obese academic may not blame his pounds on “holding water”, but I
ReplyDeleteSaw (how the) Scholar Dines
I don’t mean to gloat,
But I love my sauna,
Not lined with cedar, but balsa.
Such drivel to say I will bloat.
I wear my Nike swoosh
And sit comfy on my tush.
Misty’s Gus seems a scholar for all seasons. His good qualities, from sauna-taking to animal-playing, cover a broad front of situations.
ReplyDeleteYou might suppose someone who has actually viewed his financial swoosh would engage in occasional spates of drivel, but not so Gus!
No, he is a good guy, all ‘round!
A fine title, CanadianEh!
Followed by well-tuned sauna gloating by your comfy-tush-sitting swoosh wearer!
Brava, northern Ms.!

So many neat rhymes in all of your responses today, thanks, everybody.
ReplyDeleteOl' Man Keith, liked your echoing "saw dollar" with "Flaw/Hollered." And thank you for your very kind comments on my verse--very much appreciated. (I think Gus appreciated them too).
CanadianEh!, I loved your "Dollar Signs" "Scholar Dines" echo--delightful.
Owen, your cannibal doesn't mince any words does he? Made me laugh.
Wilbur, wish you'd given me a Wordle hint. I'll give it a try, but not sure how it will go.
Woohoo! Woohoo! I wasn't sure that I got what may have been your hint, Ol' Man Keith--but I tried it and got it on my first attempt! Thank you, thank you for this gift!

A busy day, but I have enjoyed all your offerings today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping me sane.
Glad to be of help, Misty, but I am unclear why you would be in doubt about my hint.
ReplyDeleteI have used the same rhyming triplet or quatrain for weeks now.
I only had to look up where today’s Wordle trees grow, and the answer is South America.
Finding the rhymes was the only hard part.
