Today’s Jumble haiku:

It was just a pamphlet, ephemera, throw-away.
But Tom had a notion it might be valuable some day.
It was ad for a talk
By Amelia Earhart,
The aviatrix who would soon fly away!

"Thank Prank"

Patty was so proud,
hearing the applause of the crowd.
She would happily have spoken
but the microphone was broken.
And so she realized that she must
her show of appreciation adjust.

But her only realistic chance
was to perform a crazy dance,
which made the people's jaws drop,
because this ending was over the top.

Well, took two tries because I got one letter wrong. But I should have gotten it on the first one:

Many, many thanks for your helpful clue, as always, Ol' Man Keith. You cheer up my morning!

Per Wikipedia
"Jopping", a combination of words jumping and popping, is the lead track of SuperM’s self-titled debut EP.
Our young dance student picks an obscure category in the dance competition lottery.

Draws Jopped

His dance teacher would have been proud
No spoken words were allowed
Traditional moves must be adjusted
Only self-expression is to be trusted
He performed like a frequent flyer.

That W was a combination of infrequently used letters. Misty, if you used an I in that middle spot, that would be an alternative spelling.
Owen uses another meaning. And WC, tried the chicken.

OMK- that J answer was hard to Spooner. You took a different combination and made it work. And your haiku is very true. I had to really stretch to make any kind of sense out of my Spooner. Oh well, we work with what we are given.

Misty- at least Patty was open to adaptation. Maybe she was jopping in that “over the top” dance.

Ol' Man Keith said...

CEh! ~ A true spoonerism is nearly impossible when dealing with a “D” and an Anglophone “J”—because both begin with a phonetic “D.”
Our sound for a typical English “J” is made by combining the phonemes of “D” and “Zh.” That means we can’t switch the starts of these words, as they’re exactly alike.

The dance teacher in your poem seems to be a disciple of Grotowski, with his aim to place self expression above non-adjusted “traditional moves.”
Only those engaged in such a quest know how hard it is to make an original gesture. Clichรฉ is always our first “personal” step, isn’t it?

Misty ~ I know how easy it is to go for the wrong middle letter, believe me!

Your Patty’s ending may have been over the top, but that often beats more modest gestures.
That phrase, “over the top,” usually means “broad” and in “poor taste,” but it is a gamble at least in the direction of originality.

Owen ~ Clever of you (so, what’s new?) to pick a different meaning for today’s W. And then, of course, combining them.
Your well-decorated Wordle was far from easy, shunning hints to get one started.

Wilbur’s par score is a class act today.
CEh made it just under the wire, but her witty hint elevates her finish!

Ol' Man Keith just read your opening lines, and it sounds as though we should listen when wise men tell us the truth.

Owen, how cool that Tom had a chance to read a pamphlet about Amelia Earhart!

CanadianEh!, Wow! that's an incredibly disciplined dancer in your verse!

Wilbur, looks like you had a good time with your Wordle today!

Have a good rest of the day, everybody.
