  3. To clean the data from a compact disc
You'd need more than a disc rub or whisk.
    It's on for keeps,
    It's on very deep.

  4. Orijinz:
    When kissing cousins kiss,
Are they harkening back to this?
    When isolation
    Caused tribulation,
And wedding pools were kin and kith?

  5. OMK- your W poem reminded me of the nursery rhyme, Rub-a dub-dub, three men in a tub”.

Owen- I found the hidden W in line two.

You can do it today Misty.

  6. "Honest Actor"

    Fred, the actor, was famous
    and hesitated to name us
to serve as his possible proxy,
an act that would be sly and foxy.

Then last month they did award
him a prize that was in accord
    with his accomplishments--
    and his spirits soared.

Fred has never had any remorse
that he was aware and stayed on course.
And for this, we all him endorse.

  8. Yes, indeed, Owen!
    I spotted your sly poem
    last night—even before Misty’s answer!

Glad today’s hint worked well for you, Misty. All caught up at last!
Like your famous Fred, there are no prizes for which you are not in full accord!!

    Good for you CEh!.
Your cryptic W posting suggests you were flirting with an “H” before the “C.”

  9. For CanadianEh! ~

    Rub-a-dub-dub,
    Three maids in a tub!
And who do you think were there?
The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker,
All of them gone to the fair!

~ This is based on the original, a 14th century poem calling out respectable townsfolk who were spotted peeping at a naughty display of naked ladies washing themselves at an adult-rated show at the fair.
Tsk. Who would’ve suspected our ancestors of such lascivious carryings-on?

You want to scrub those zits no doubt.
Be aware that makes them worse.
None on the famous of course,
    They are airbrushed out.
    With one accord we agree,
Give those blemishes to a proxy.

  11. OMK- I never cease to be amazed at your ability to turn the J words into a concise but meaningful haiku. Great title (it was difficult to do today).
Thanks for the rub-a-dub poem and background info. Every genealogist knows that there are stories hidden in the closets of our ancestors.
Re Wordle- yes I did have an H before the C.

Misty - your poem about foxy Fred brought a smile to my face. Truly an upright actor to endorse.

  12. Ol' Man Keith, thank you for your fun haiku, your verse that gave me the Wordle, your funny 'Rubadubdub' poem which gave us maids instead of men going out to sea, and your kind responses to all of us. We have much to thank you for today.

Owen, I looked up your midnight Windex poem--a delight.

CanadianEh!, what good advice, to have us give blemishes a proxy. But how exactly would we do that? Your verse is a delight, and foxy Fred and I thank you for your kind comment.

Wilbur, I just saw messages on my other blog that you were bitten by a spider and worried that you might need some serious treatment. We'll keep you in our caring thoughts and hope you'll be back with us soon.
