Today’s Jumble haiku:
ReplyDelete(My tactics for dealing with the failures of this life are limited, but they’ll have to do.
For one, I …)
“Will (be) Cursing”
While I might sicken
at how the world sprawls in stews
of vice, I’ll get by.
~ OMK
_____________
PS. There are only four 5-letter words in the entire three-line haiku, making it impossible to fail at Wordle.
ReplyDeleteFLN, CEh! ~ OIC!
In Misty’s poem, you think it is Kate’s husband who’s “happy & ready to play”!
I read the grammar differently. I thought it was Kate who was glad when she “woke him” to be feeling so “happy and ready to play.”
Well, I guess this goes to show the interpretive potential of poetry!

Meanwhile, in the Sonoran Desert
ReplyDeleteA coyote plotted for his dessert,
An Acme fix
Will get it quick --
Back to our story, she's going berserk!

Orijinz:
ReplyDeleteDuck tape or duct tape, who's to say?
With a hole in a vent, it will have its way.
A line of birds,
A migrating herd,
May see wings fixed before they fray.
Reminder to Misty:
ReplyDeleteMy Wordle hints are now folded into my haiku.

With each bundle delivered by that large long-legged bird, it becomes more important to have your legal documents in order.

While the world’s population expands,
The sprawl absorbs rural lands.
It might be wise to buy,
In case one should sicken and die.
Then one’s heirs would know,
That one’s ducks are all in a row.
Owen- the O took me 1:10, mostly because of the number of letters to enter. Thanks for the clues.
ReplyDeleteI managed to get both birds into my poem today.
You hid the W well in the first line of your funny Wily Coyote poem.
OMK- I have left Misty an easy clue with my W post.
You took a different title for your haiku. I liked the “the world sprawls stews of vice” phrase with its imagery.
FLN- I’m still laughing at my interpretation!
"Smell Hell"
ReplyDeleteSue was sickened by the smell,
which made her feel unwell.
The odor in the shop did sprawl
all over the world of the mall.
Sue tried with all her might
to put up with it day and night.
But when she could no longer endure,
she asked the managers to find a cure.
They agreed and got rid of the smell,
and now Sue's job is still working well.
Woohoo! CanadianEh!, it was your hint that helped me get today's Wordle, and then
ReplyDeleteOl' Man Keith's haiku confirmed it. Many thanks to you both.

And it didn't take me much time to get, just a little . . ..
Misty- Poor Sue. That smell must have been terrible to make her feel sick day and night (even when I assume she wasn’t even at the mall working!). Thank goodness she spoke up and her managers were able to find a cure.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad my clue helped you get the W.
OMK, sorry to hear about all that whirling vice. I hope you do get by.
ReplyDeleteAnd I will try to remember looking for your W words in your haiku, although I still miss your fun hints.
Owen, I didn't know coyotes were able to order food from Acme in the desert. Hope yours got his desert dessert.
CanadianEh!, what a complex, clever verse you gave us today! Took me a minute to picture storks delivering babies before their contribution to population expansion became clear to me. I suppose seeing them lined up like that would help people's heirs sort of know where they came from.
Have a good evening coming up, everybody.
