‘Twas the night before Christmas,
and all through the house
not a computer was clacking,
not even his mouse.
He’d been jammed on Saturday,
failing to greet Ms. Misty,
so now her birthing day
salutes, although he’d wished he’d
been early. “Mea culpa,” he cries,
making the catch in his throat.
“Mea maxima culpa!” And sighs…
then remembers this note…
… to remind readers of the blog
that he must rest neurons, to conceive
of better rhythms in his poetry
and to enjoy Christmas Eve!

"Good Pet Bet"
Sue liked having games to play,
while enjoying a sundae on Monday.
She liked the rhythm of words like 'suffix'
and had fun tossing hockey sticks.
In contests she was rarely beaten,
and that did her victories sweeten.
But when opponents did her outwit
it made her teeth start to grit.
One day she went to a vet
and told him she needed a pet.
He presented her with a whole set
and she chose a cute piglet.
Now her life is on a new shelf
and Sue is totally happy herself.
