emcee, hiker, absurd, pushup, pursue his dream.

  1. He tried to keep in shape, he did,
    With chin-ups, push-ups, curl-ups.
He climbed rock walls, on skateboard slid,
    Did hiking, camping, outdoor stuff.

    He entered body-building shows,
To emcees he was a "tough old bird".
    Wearing speedos, no other clothes
He pursued poses you'd dream absurd!

    He was in picture-perfect health,
A paragon of prep and pluck.
No malady could slow him down --
Too bad he met that pick-up truck!

  2. Owen,
You are the perfect poet for this blog. I found some of the answers hidden in your poem sans checking back with the jumble. Now I will study further.
    Everything is clear now.
I got 1 & 2 right off. I hinted the first letter of 3, 4, and word 3 of solution (S). Each time the rest of the words were clear. Word 1 of S came easily after that.

  3. I had trouble with#3. So, I used what I had and tried to solve the riddle . No THE . Fortunately, #4 supplied the vowels that got me the solution .

But... #3 had 4 circles so that didn't help much . I kept pursuing and tried every crazy combination until I got it

  4. This was a bit tougher than previous ones this week but I managed to eke them out. It's absurd to me that such a word would cause me so much woe. I was certain HIS would be the middle word so wrote that and then DREAM occurred to me and the rest fell in place. Satisfaction!
