The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

The wide range of heaven is above us.
ReplyDeleteDo we admit a greater power is how?
Did God throw up his hands and make a fuss,
Or did a primordial Big Bang create 'now'?
All the world is around for reasoning.
Can we say that a great being is why?
Did God plant each nettle with meaning?
Or is it just because a bright sun is nigh?
We each have a unique soul in our hearts.
Will we begin, so quick to meet our end?
Did God decide to mete out bitty parts,
Or are we sticky sap who think we're men?
My 'puter's still dead. This weekend would have been a good time to take it in to the Geek Squad, but I blew it. I was feeling so depressed over it that I stayed in bed right thru business hours. :-(
ReplyDeleteI did spend some time on my netbook recreating my procedure for adding my own cartoon, since I had an idea for it that I wanted to create. And my LW has been a better sport about sharing her machine with me than I had feared.
Sorry the 'puter problem is so depressing, Owen, but glad there's so much understanding at home...
ReplyDeleteI dunno about anyone else, but I got a real chuckle from today's solution. For those who've been missing the ol' humorous play in words, your ship is in!

So sorry you're still having computer problems, Owen.
ReplyDeleteGot all four words of the Jumble, but had to look up the solution. I don't really get what all those folks in the cartoon are doing and what their equipment is supposed to represent, so not my best Jumble morning, to go along with an otherwise not great morning. (Except for the Crossword puzzle, which, thank goodness, worked out well even without any electricity in the house). Anyway, have a good day, Owen, and Ol' Man Keith and Sandyanon and Wilbur.
I actually logged in earlier but couldn't get #1, no-how. So, newspaper in hand, xword done I took another look.
ReplyDeleteThis time I took all the available letters and realized I needed vowels. And where to stick them. Eeny meeny tada.
That didn't solve the riddle although Owen's cartoon would've. But moving letters around I realized who the folks were standing around.
Google has decided I like Seinfeld. So I get this to continuing series in the Making of. The "extras" and how they got there are amusing stories including the porn star that ended up at the George, Estelle et Mari+ and the in-laws dining table
