Thalia visits dreams for her own inspiration,
To see people with their conscious on vacation.
In one she hears an opera with pipe organ.
That will be a story about a calliope by morning.

In another dream she smells a fragrant bakery.
She can use that for a feud with a perfumery.
In one she feels the touch of a lover's hand.
To an infatuated smart-phone that idea can expand.

If she hears alarms of a disaster that impends,
She'll make them false alarms for a prank he intends.
As the goddess of humor, Thalia strives to amuse.
She spreads her inspiration, that's why she is a Muse!

My computer has died! I had a second poem all written, but wasn't able to send it. I'm writing this from my phone, which is a new experience for me.
The poem was about the Devil trying to get hymns out of a believer's noggin by uprooting them from her brain, but instead falling down her throat, which was no laughing matter! He was trapped in the tunnel of her innards until he was "excreated", and decided never to try that again.

Owen, many thanks for giving us the words in the second Jumble in your prose summary of your lost poem. I had gotten all but two of the Jumble words, and found one more in your poem. But had to look up the solution, which was pretty clever, I thought. I also like the cartoon a lot with all those different characters under the sign.

Well that covers the 6*6 which I labored At. I started my Sunday solving at Panera, moved to a club I belong to. Then over to Sam's club.

Each time a few more words. Finally having got all six I rearranged the letters and got a chuckle out of how Easy the Riddle-Solution was.

Looking for the saga of the Devil and the Barfing Believer

PS. #5 will test Misty. "DAMNed tricky

I don't often sign in on Sunday, but can't resist because of today's coincidence. The plumber who wasn't going to show up until next Weds just called to say he'll be here between 1 and 2:30! I guess we can postpone our usual Sunday ice creams until after his visit!
Sorry about your computer woe, Owen--and sorry to miss your Satanic verses. Your first work today gives us good cheer and reminds us that Erato is in good health & vigor.
My old iMac has also been acting up terribly. I was going to get a new one this year, but then one of our dogs needed surgery, so I'll postpone taking another "bite o' the Apple" for a while. (I was also due for a new chapeau but I'm told the shop is closed because of a shortage of clerks. I got the email with the subject line: Staffing, hatter.)

The devil don't like hymnody, nor carols to the King.
He prefers his own songs, if folks just have to sing!
One day, when the world was still new and young
He thought he could silence every praising tongue.

He thought to invade the noggin of a believer,
Uproot the hymns so that he could then deceive her.
He went through her mouth, on the way to her brain
But he slipped, and fell down her throat's drain!

Thru the tunnel of her innards, he was in the stream.
Likely trapped between bites of angel food and ice cream!
When at last he was excreted, it was no laughing matter.
Ever since, he's put up with "that holy music chatter"!

Using the LW's computer, and lo, the j6 poem had saved to the cloud! Late in the day for any hints, but at least you can bask in the brilliance of my poetry (he says modestly) 😜

Ahhh... basking, basking...
Loving the cruise thru the believer's innards... le voyage viscéral.

Hi all. Not quite up to jumbling, but pretty soon.

Glad to hear from you, Sandy! Any chance you'll tell us what kept you away once you come back?

Wilbur: I liked "the saga of the Devil and the Barfing Believer". That would have been even better than having the Devil shat out!

Keith: Liked "your Satanic verses", too!

I wonder if SwampCat still waders by?

Yep, Sandy, just say hello goodbye. We'll know you're out there and ok.

Somebody mentioned that the Wizard of ID's "jester" was named BUNG.

But we just had Wilburforce's "Charlesbank Dine" Limerick where "the sot" figured out the riddle.
