Ho! Another year has been gone through!
Let's ring out the old, bring in the new!
The past was hardly a high banner era,
Let's hope the future holds less error!

We start the year with resolute intents,
With optimism to prefix the events!
Not just status quo, but with extra gravy,
To wipe out regrets of a year gone crazy!

If you follow my Facebook page, you know Bren came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. She seem lucid and in good spirits. After the suspense of the past few day, I'm not relaxing too far yet, but the immediate crisis seems to be past.

The Jumble seemed particularly easy today ... the poor fool.

Thank you for sharing your good news, Owen. Your caution is certainly understandable, yet this is a necessary step toward a calmer outcome. We'll all keep good thoughts for you and Bren.
The new year seems a fitting turning point.
And your poem expresses our sentiments well.

Yes, the Jumble seemed easy-peasy --and hardly presented a challenge for this new "Spoon":
His family was so firm in holding academics higher than athletics, Charlie wasn't sure his mother would welcome the school's winning regatta team. But when he asked where the gang might hold their party, his mother just smiled: "Bring in the crew, dear!"

Yes, the J's and riddle went quickly. I see Owen kept to the theme on the poem, I was expecting some medical epic with the knights holding their emblams.

Glad to see normalcy in Owen household to start the new year.

I had a CC post today referencing the fateful 7/5/18 CC blog where we all branched out from the xword to a jumble discussion.

But it did result in the birth of the jumble hints blog. Alas poor C-Moe

Owen, I'm so glad things may be calming down for you a bit. You deserve a peaceful and comfortable beginning of the new year after the stress you've endured. Our hearts will be with you in 2020.

This was the absolutely perfect Jumble to end 2019. All four words popped up without a moment's hesitation. And so did the solution. I double checked it with the letters from the items, and it was perfect. And a very sweet cartoon with the colors making it clear that it's a snowy evening but a happy one for the young couple. Delightful New Year's eve spoon, Ol'Man Keith. Have a great evening, everybody.

Owen, I really agree with your poem's theme. Your comment, though, was alternately encouraging and depressing. I don't at all think that marriage is for fools; mine wasn't good, but I know many that are, one that just celebrated 67 loving years together.

The jumble was, yes, too easy. The solution didn't even need clues, but they were easy too.
