Well, I hope they're not trying to be funeral directors.
With apology to Wilbur,
please consider this an homage to Lois & Chet.
Mightn't this suggest employment in their future?
"A Sober Garden Undertaking"
The garden guide intended to show us the veggies,
subgroup radishes, turnips, and other root types.
A recovering drinker, he kept to his pledge. He's
a sponsor to others who respect all his stripes.
His garden begs a knack for fine mapping,
for differentiating reds from the greens.
Its guides may not nod, no time for napping.
They sometime crave use of liquid caffeines,
for it often demands such focused attention
as keeps the brain fresh & free from regression.

It was her first political convention,
And to make it count was her intention!
A young activist made his way to her side,
And offered to be her friend and her guide.
He had a knack for finding where V.I.P.s abided
Where interesting things were decided!
She didn't feel that he was too extremish.
Not fully radical, maybe slightly rad-ish.
They saw how committees got empaneled,
And how the sometimes became so embattled
As experienced hands oversaw undertakings,
While they tried to overlook paradigm shaking!
"Guide Abide"
Jack had a clever knack
of filling his hiking back-pack
with items to fulfill his wish,
like radish, and clams, and fresh fish.
He served as a tourist guide,
a job he performed with pride
but he had to confess he lied
about what his back-pack had inside.
When asked about his intent
he refused to make a comment.
But in the end he got rid of the smell
by throwing his food down a well.
He had finally begun understanding
what his hikers were demanding.
Now they no longer think he's weird
and have praised him and happily cheered.
Hmm. I liked his playing with "rad-ish," but Owen seems content to just introduce a tyro to legislative inner workings.
Anything more was too dry for my slow wit.
I like Misty's more adventurous spirit these days.
To judge by his menu, Jack is either an experimenter--or pregnant.
He seems a little too concerned with what others think of his smelly choices. His conformity (tossing his dinner) wins their cheers.
But no marriage in prospect. That feels daring.

Jack thanks you for your clever remarks, OMK--well, except for that icky pregnant joke.
I found your verse this morning wonderful--especially with the rhyming of 'veggies' and 'pledge he's' and 'green' and 'caffeine.' Well done.
Glad your young woman and her rad-ish pal enjoyed their political convention, Owen.
