The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

Among the noble gases she employed,
Gloomhilda regretted the cold, chilly one
she had...
"Put into the Mix"
The mutant witch yearned for a tropic vacation.
Oh! to be adjourned from the eerie gaseous glow,
the greenish mix of xenon, amid fuels in the collation,
she used to fix the hexes in her dim, dark grotto.

Sorry, arthritis attack. My left shoulder hurt so much I couldn't concentrate on more than a single l'ick at CC last night. It still hurts but not as much, and may be completely normal by the time you read this. I may try to add a poem this afternoon.
Well, this is the first time I don't have a Jumble to submit in my years on the blog.
It started with having to look up three of the mixed words because I just couldn't get them. Trying to rhyme them (what rhymes with 'mutant'?) wasn't easy either. And in the end the Jumble I came up with was so nasty (rhyming 'witch' with 'bitch'--embarrassing) that I just can't bring myself to post it. So I apologize for my poetic absence this morning, but I know Ol' Man Keith will forgive me, and I hope all others will too.
Given my problem, your own brief verse was brilliant this morning, Keith--especially having it start with a 'mutant witch' and including a 'mix of xenon.'
Owen, I'm so glad your shoulder is feeling better, and I hope we'll get your poem by this afternoon--we really need it.
And we need you too, Wilbur.
Have a good day, everybody.
Take the day, Misty ~ you deserve a break, an "adjournment," if anyone does.
It is tough trying to rhyme the J-words themselves. It adds an extra burden to an already tough task.
These words were not easy, or appealing to work with; I thought seriously of taking my other deferred day off. Good thing I didn't!
Owen ~ sorry about your shoulder but glad it is better.
I will look in later to see if either of you or Wilbur posts this afternoon.
Auf Wiedersehen!
She called herself the Wisteria Witch
She loved alliteration, willy-nilly,
But White Witch was already taken,
And Wheat Witch just sounded silly!
Her mutant super-power was limited.
She controlled noble gasses with her will!
She could manipulate helium balloons,
Dim xenon headlights coming over hills;
Could make tanning beds better or worse,
Make the bulbs tropic hot, arctic chill!
But put into the mix her best power:
She could pilot any zeppelin at will!
Thank you very much, OMK, for your very kind words--greatly appreciated.
And thank you, Own, for your delightful verse, with all the Jumble words put into the mix.
Owen ~
A neat little po-um.
no ho-hum
at all.
Yep, the zeppelin & blimp
for lift mustn't skimp
or--er, downfall!
They use plenty of helium,
that noble gas.
No longer hydrogen,
because--well, Alas!
