  1. "No Doubt About It"
His hobby was handing out tracts
    promising a heavenly utopia.
He believed they were useful as pacts
    (countering secular myopia)
between sinners and a merciful God.
He was pleased when his readers were awed.

  2. "Friendship"

Bobby met May in a lobby
and told her about his new hobby.
He'd been busy writing a tract
    about a new opera act
that he hoped would make theaters packed.
Getting funding was a bit of a gruel
for many found the idea not that cool
and felt funding it not useful.

He feared that this project utopia
might have failed due to some myopia
    and that instead of success
    it had become a mess.
    But talking to May about
    all this worry and doubt
made him finally no longer pout.

A year later this new friendship he'd bless
when his project did become a success.

I bet "myopia" never gets a better chance to enter the hallowed halls of Poesy
than when "utopia" leads the way, making its path all rosey.
We've proven that together. And let's give a shout
for the unending stream of oh-you-tee words floating about!
In jotting lyrics for his opera, Bobby
must use such rhymes. He can't be snobby.

May may not think of herself as one to judge
his work. But "SRO" sales apparently nudge
their friendship: His work's not crappy!
    Both seem happy,
    and not too sappy.

  4. OMK, many thanks for your kind words,
and I also liked your verse.

Religion can be a wonderful thing
with services to attend and hymns to sing.
    Your fellow offers kind relief,
I only hope he also has belief.
