There is a certain grace to the sliding,
For those who progress from hitting the siding!
The kids play hockey weekly at a rink.
Some wear khaki uniforms, others in pink!
To skate while everyone is hitting with sticks,
Takes some fortitude, and some deke-y tricks!
One goalie who spoke in a low bass key
Said it was because he really was Loki!
The opposite team were all Frost Giants.
Hockey was a safer way to show defiance!
Those kids are very tiny in the background. Can anyone tell me what they are doing? What's written on that contraption?

Owen, I don't know what that thing is, but "SOUTHERNMOST" is written on it,and they're having their picture taken with it, so I suppose it's something representing where they are visiting, which is not only south, but also West. A very touristy thing to do, yes?

He disliked any kind of pomp
and out of fancy parties did stomp.
Yes, he was very low key,
but that made him happy and free.
Its shape suggests a ballistic object or a diving bell. Except for the lack of a window, it could be a recovered space capsule.

Keith, I looked up "low Key" and the phrase suggests behavior that is calm, quiet, restrained, moderate. So, yes, may be shouldn't have stomped out of a fancy party. But I didn't mean to suggest he was a purist, just a modest, not very exciting guy.

Now how the two managed to separate from the group is a story in itself
The movie was horse manure, another tale of the perils of ill-begotten wealth.
The first words Lois said were "I see you've ditched those khakis you wore that first night.
I'm so happy to see you've prospered in the program and stayed on the bright*"

He'd emerged from that cold, dark place. A new start he had made.
Instead of hamburger he now had steak: his thirst was slaked with Coke,
His old friend Johnny Walker was a distant bloke.
John, his Sponsor, suggested helping a newcomer find the way.
And there he was, Eddie, shaky, bewildered and lost
No mistake about it, He'd bring him around no matter the cost.
"My friend", said Chet, I want you to ask Him for help and call me every day".

His desire for simplicity is enough to earn that aspirational title. And as I suggested, it can be an attractive trait.
I enjoyed writing about my Loki. I was inspired by the near Spoonerism of "Low Key" and the reversed sounds of "Goal-Ley."
