  1. FLN, CEh! ~ I answered you late last night.

Hint: Begins with B; an insult to the chef; only one vowel.

Background: Trusting a young fickle female horse to find new paths puts too great a burden on her. She’s too playful to find…

    A ‘For Sure’ Way

    It’s unwise to have
    a filly ferret-out fresh
    vales a la vista.

(A play of fricatives. Try it aloud.)

  3. "Pet Set"

    Which has the greater merit--
    a filly or a ferret?
Fran was not competing for a prize
and did not want to be unwise.
She asked advice from her sister
who told her to see a new vista.
    A sure-fire way to make a choice
is to listen to each animal's voice.
Both critters did bark and coo,
so Fran decided to keep all two.

  4. Leaving the Bland Life

    The unwise filly
    Surveyed the vista
Trying to ferret out the cause
    Of her ennui.
She searched for a surefire way to spice things up!

  5. CEh! ~ Were your 1st & 2nd BEAST, BRAIN? (Not BRAWL?)

Your foolish filly figures to find fun!
Meanwhile, your readers enjoy your verse!

Misty ~ Loved your poem for its unusual usages!
Especially imagining how those two very different critters might sound—barking & cooing together…

  6. Thank you for the kind comments, Ol' Man Keith. And how cool to have you use 'ferret' as a verb rather than a noun in your verse--clever!

Ironically my first word was MASON which synced nicely with the CC theme.

  11. Thanks OMK. I hadn’t looked at your verse before I created mine. Our filly was on the same wavelength.
    Love the fricatives.

Misty- I love Fran’s choice. She will have the best of both worlds!
    Nice work on Wordle.

    WC- prescience of the blog?!

  12. C-eh etal, I like to use the first word I think of to start. Then when I make a mess I like to work my way out.

    It's brain fitness training
