The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.
FLN, WC ~ Good Wordle work! I can’t begin to guess what your earlier levels were—on either 391 or 392.
ReplyDeleteMisty ~ Since it’s a new day, I can tell you the answer to 391 is WEDGE.
Be aware, though, that whenever you’re ready to look up an answer, you can just type “Wordle” & the number, and there are spoilers all over the web. The thing is international.

Hint: Begins with R; a noun or adjective meaning spacious, or one who shares an apartment.

Today’s haiku may be seen as a form of “red alert,” or…
“Scarlet, Obvious”
Cameo adage:
Genius gets only hotter
as sun lights it up.
~ OMK
Well, we've got Jumble here, and Wordle, so how about I add my artwork as jigsaw puzzles.
ReplyDeletesquiggly Pales #1 99 pieces (too big for a phone screen)
squiggly Pales #2 45 pieces (good size for phone)
Thaks, Owen, I did yours and today's puzzle; yours was a challenge because of the repetitive pattern To be honest, I prefer landscapes.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried jigsaw planet? Nice to be able to change both the number and shape of pieces, in creating and in solving.
"Wise Writer"
ReplyDeleteAs a writer Bill had much baggage
and had trouble coming up with an adage.
He tried hard to invent something hotter
but decided it was too much bother.
So he took aim at his target audience
and wrote a cameo that made good sense.
In the end this created a happy fuss
and Bill now feels like a real genius.
Well, I got today's Wordle on my first try, thanks to your helpful hint, Ol' Man Keith.
ReplyDeleteBut for some reason it won't let me copy and transfer the result today. So all I've got is a silent Woohoo!
After a rocky time at third, I remembered the double possibility for a “Splendid”.

Cameo Appearance
ReplyDeleteIt didn’t take a genius
To see past the old adage
That your target audience
Needs to hear your message seven times
Before they will take action to purchase your product or service..
The hotter the ad, the bigger the sales!.
Thank you, Owen ~ Beautiful work. I haven’t done jigsaws in decades, but you have me with #2.
ReplyDeleteAddictive.
And you managed to draw Sandy out!
Misty ~ Good for you on Wordle! And you made Par!
Dunno why your diagram wouldn’t transfer. If it doesn’t happen automatically, go back and check out the options in the upper right corner.
Glad your Bill went for “good sense,” as that is the only true path to achieving something “hotter.” Let the sun shine in.
Looks like you went for the same meaning as I did with Cameo—a brief appearance by a guest celeb!
I liked your rhyming “happy fuss/genius.”
~ OMK
CEh! ~ Was your penultimate Wordle ROCKY?
ReplyDelete(Surely not ROWDY….)
I wonder if that is true, about 7 times being the magic number for ad exposure. I suppose the big agencies wouldn’t settle for anecdotal data. That must’ve been well researched.
Similar to making Foie gras….
But what about the ads that turn us off? Do they really need to wait till 7 to learn that?
~ OMK
OMK - yes #3 was Rocky. I had already eliminated the D in my second Round.
ReplyDeleteSome ads that I think are cute at first, totally turn me off by their seventh appearance.
I could not get my WORDLE into my offering today. No room!
Sorry OwenKL, my mother loves jigsaw puzzles, but they are not my cup of tea. I’m not good at visualizing shapes in my head.
Well, I decided I should not pass by OwenKL’s jigsaw without at least giving it a try.
ReplyDeleteSquiggly Pales #2 completion time 9:53. Not bad for me IMHO,
It just fit my iPad mini screen in landscape view.
Thanks for the fun Owen.
Owen ~ I completed your #2 in 39 minutes. I’m sure that’s not a great time, but I am proud of myself anyway.
ReplyDeleteThank you—and thank you for the end-poem, an unexpected treat!
~ OMK
Delightful to see your visual arts today, Owen--many thanks!
ReplyDeleteClever play on the Jumble solution in your haiku title this morning, OMK, very clever.
And I loved your "Cameo Appearance," CanadianEh!. So the audience needs to see ads seven times before purchasing a product? I'm glad I don't look at many ads or do much shopping any more these days. Wouldn't have that kind of time if I did.
Thanks for checking in with us, Sandyanon.
Wilbur, I wanted to wait until I had a chance to do today's crossword puzzle before responding to your post yesterday. You're so right, Saturday's are pretty much impossibly for me without tons of cheating. So many long, long words, and then pop culture and sports and other tough clues. Wish I could breathe a sigh of relief, but Sunday's are not exactly easy either. But I'll just have to hang in there as best I can, and look forward to hearing what you think of tomorrow's puzzle.
ReplyDeleteSandy, before I settled on Jigidi in 2014, I did a exhaustive review of a couple Jigsaw sites, including Jigsaw Planet. The single feature I liked best was rotating pieces which I see Jigsaw Planet had, but was overshadowed by Puzzle Touch, where rotation was not just 90* increments, but 360*!
ReplyDeleteJigidi won for me because of a combination for my particular style, tho it doesn't include rotation. Anyway, here's the list from 2014;
Jigidi
PuzzleTouch
Jigsaw Jam
Jigsaw Planet
JigZone
TheJigsawPuzzles.com
Jigsaw explorer
MyPuzzle.org
newyorker.com
Crazy4Igsaws
Full report only if requested. It's VERY long, boring, and 8 years old!
Wow, Owen, what exhaustive research! I guess final choice is basically a matter of personal style.
