  1. Miri and Joz were married
    Happily, except what tarried.
Her uterus seemed to be barren.
    At their feet, no ragamuffin.

She went to Joz's mother with her sorrow.
The matriarch advised that on the morrow,
Just before bedtime, give his Nads a clout!
That should invert his junk to put good seed out!

They drank their nightly tea, she followed orders.
He fell as clubbed. She helped him to their quarters
She feared she'd made an horrid error, for
Thay made no love, that night plus four!

After a time of trial, they had kids!
Twenty-four at last count, yes they did!

  2. Wilbur &/or Archie, are you going to take over for September or not?

  3. FLN, WC ~ Thanks for answering my question. Maybe that enzyme gets better results than those name-brands. I was just reading a research article that graded Prevagen and some other advertised products. Prevagen was given a D+. All were rated poorly.
    I’ll keep yours in mind.
Hey, good work on today’s W!

    Today’s Jumble haiku:
Walt, the contract lawyer, prided himself on his influence in negotiations, but after a few friendly toasts, he was apt to sign away his clients’ deeds.
His wife grew fearful when they went shopping. She would watch him enter the liquor department, which she thought of as the…

    ”Aisle of Terror”

    What clout Walt had… drain’d
    as he drank. It inverted,
    grew barren, & died.

I'm beginning to see the light

I was doubtful about CoQ10 but the return of Mr S convinced me to go back. I've got to keep up the Fish oil tablets and cranberry pills. The latter for bladder control, the former for heart

Abstinence from red meat seems to be my best nutritional move

  5. I made a great second guess today. My 11 year-old granddaughter got the answer on the third!

  6. Again I used a J to start. Given the last 2 ltrs and #1, I can't think of another solution word.

Bonus points for grok'ing my #2. It's an Owen/OMK type of word.

Misty has plenty of hints by now including my original post

  7. "Recovery"

    The attorney had great clout
    and won every single bout.
But when lots of liquor he drank
    his ratings greatly sank.
    His office became barren
    with co-workers no longer sharing.
His trade this experience had hurt,
and so his error he must invert.
He is now no longer in denial
and is working on a new trial
    hoping his career to re-dial.

  10. Misty,
Have your attorney get in touch with Chet . He'll help him get to meetings and find a sponsor

  11. Glad to be of service, Misty. I think the examples of WC & CEh! may have been helpful as well.
I saw a number of hints on this one, but I posted the one that gave it to me.

It looks like you and I wrote about the same guy today. I summed up Walt's problem in my 17 syllables, while you fleshed him out a bit more.
His wife is hoping he can "re-dial" his life along with his career. Wilbur thinks he should chat with Chet.
    What say?

  12. I'm glad to hear you find some relief from Mr S's visitations, Wilbur.
So far, my main foe is the other Mr S, aka "Sleepy" or "Mr Sandman." When I manage to get a couple of good pages typed, he likes to drag on my eyes & mentation.
It is oh-so-easy to give in, as if I had all the time in the world. Time--the very thing that's running in ever-shorter supply...

I already take a number of prescribed daily meds, of course, so am not eager to add any more--not yet. We probably share the bladder problems of our seniority. I changed my b'fast OJ to cranberry juice a couple of years ago.

  13. Well, it seems that my attorney has a lot of options. He could get married and have 24 kids, like Owen's Joz, whose life was pretty busy with not much time for drinking, I suspect.

If he doesn't do that, he's likely to lose his clout and have a disastrous future, like OMK's Walt.

Wilbur might actually have the best advice for him: abstinence, not just from red meat but also from red wine may be his best solution.

Okay, okay, I do drink a four shots of Merlot every night--but they're each poured into a tiny glass about the size of a thimble. I think that comes to a single half-glass at the most. Keeps me sober enough to cook dinner, eat, take my nightly exercise-walk up and down the hall, and watch a 9'oclock episode of "Castle" or "Father Brown" or "Mudock Mysteries" (when I can find an old episode). Not a bad way to spend an evening.

  14. How great that your grand-daughter helps you with Wordle, CanadianEh!. Looks like she has a promising future ahead!

  15. Owen ~ Joz's mum has faith in the crudest of old wives' remedies for a barren womb.
Looks like a female conspiracy. Yet it seems to have shaken up the seed source--Phew! Talk about magic & source-ery!
At least it works in poetic fiction! 24, and still counting!
And maybe half of them in training to kick future hubbies you-know-where!

  16. Owen, I'll talk to Archie. He originally wanted to set it up so it automatically ran. In the old days we had JCL for that.

    I'll get back to you.
