I'm in rehab now.
ReplyDeleteI hurt my bod somehow.
Five times Igor
I did ignore.
My back's now puppy chow.
Sorry, Owen, your rehab hurts so much.
ReplyDeleteBut you know you gotta endure it
to get back that magic touch!
Today’s Jumble haiku:
(Nine of the titles under the new “Vagrancy/Homeless” law were badly written. The SLLC [State Legal Logic Commission] assigned Judge Lee the duty of revising them before the date for the law’s enactment.
But he procrastinated, “twiddling his fingers and chilling his toes,” as they say.
And he ran out of time.)
“Toe-Chilla’”
Logic said, “Law man,
Repair nine titles!” But Lee
could only fix eight.
~ OMK
FLN WC got the Wordle. I found it difficult today.
ReplyDeleteYes OMK, I did give Misty an easy Wordle solve yesterday. She had been getting discouraged with Wordle.
We’ll see how robust she is today.
Elected Officer
ReplyDeleteThere is no logic
To a lawman
Who fixates
On changing his title
From constable to chief
Without any vigor or tact.
A flotilla of one will not float!
OweKL- sorry you are not well. Get better soon.
ReplyDeleteOMK- “fix eight” was great!
"Popular Policeman"
ReplyDeleteThe town hired a new lawman
who drove in a yellow van.
He considered his job vital,
and was proud of his new title.
His bold decisions were made quick,
using facts and thoughtful logic.
He was careful and always did wait
and did never early fixate.
His flotilla of fans had elected him
because they really respected him.
Wordle 476 Hint: a match for vim.
ReplyDeletePar = 2

Your verse is right, CanadianEh!
ReplyDeleteIt is silly and an abuse of public trust for a lawman to waste his time on a change of title.
No tact in that.
Just like the L.A. County Sheriff spending time adopting cowboy hats!
Do the job, not the folderol!
Your man, Misty, has a far better handle on his job.
He’ll surely deserve reelection,
the voters’ natural selection!
~ OMK
Woohoo! Thank you, thank you for your Wordle hint, Ol' Man Keith! It worked:

Always a thrill to start the morning like this!
Always happy to oblige, Misty, if not on an every-day basis…
ReplyDeleteI reckon nothing else goes with it.
In fact, I’ve never encountered “vim” as a stand-alone. Have you?
CEh! Did you have to fight an urge to add a “u”?
~ OMK
Loved your verse this morning, Owen--many thanks for that. What a great way to start off our blog today!
ReplyDeleteOl' Man Keith, you do such a neat job embedding your clever haiku into a story every morning. A real pleasure to read and figure out where Lee was headed.
Cool how you worked all the Jumble words and solution into your elected officer story, CanadianEh!. You're a terrific poet!
Wilbur, where are you? We miss you, and hope Chet and Lois are okay!
Misty- great work on Wordle today.
ReplyDeleteI am not used to having policemen be elected, but I am pleased that yours uses good logic and is respected by the community.
Thanks for your kind words about my poetry, even if it doesn’t rhyme. I like to think I have a good rhythm instead!
OMK- LOL, I never thought of spelling it with a U, but I LIUed, and there is a British spelling with a U. This Canadian has never seen it used here. Very strange how we change between the British and American usage. We Canadians are adaptable!
[Charles is introducing Chet to the election team. They are curious about Chet's program of recovery]
ReplyDeleteFirst, there are no rules or laws in AA, only suggestions
Whether man or woman one must put aside Logic and
Titles in favor of a tradition that eschews anything politic
We must not fixate on the past but rather on our daily sessions
Our society welcomes all with the desire into the room
But on page 24 it emphasizes that "No action spells doom"
WC
That clue at CC "Worth giving up on" prompted the last two lines.
ReplyDeleteAfter Bill W tells his story about repeated attempts to get sober on his own, on page 24 in italics he emphasizes the "doom" in store for those who try to get by with halfway measures.
WC
Fln, Misty, if you saw my wordle post(FLN) I'll explain.
ReplyDeleteVIGORish is the 10% or more that the Bookie charges to make bet. Hence $11 to win 10
Of course C-eh hid the word in his most excellent verse which without rhyming is poetic.
When Chet gets finished listening to the political people he will surely be open to that good advice offered by OMK and C-eh.
Misty, any advice for Chet
Finally...
That Saturday xword was a bear, Eh?

ReplyDelete... her most excellent verse....
