Today’s Jumble haiku:
(We have a funny way
of gleaning how
we take pleasure in things…)
“We’re Goofy”
Surely, all enjoy
that toward which we’re given to
enjoy. By dee-feau!

Reposting...From the wee hours
ReplyDeleteI can't sleep and managed to damage an eye by rubbing it or something. So I solved
Wordle 500 4/6
⬛🟩⬛⬛⬛
⬛🟩🟩🟩⬛
⬛🟩🟩🟩⬛
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
in four but have never seen the word used. But it was all I could come up with
WC
Although Chet had vowed to sit back and enjoy the wedding plans
ReplyDeleteHe got more and more nervous as the days marched toward
St Patrick's day. Nora had already given out the wedding bans.
Surely this was no time to panic after all he was no coward.
"Get in the groove you fool your marrying the girl of your dreams,
This is no time to become unravelled or come apart at the seams"
WC
WC- I agree with you about this Wordle being an outlier. It took me a while to see the forest for the trees!
ReplyDeleteFeeling Groovy
ReplyDeleteGiven that the year
Is fast moving to the holiday season,
When we enjoy the Christmas music
And the piney smell of our decorations,
Surely we can move toward
A world with more peace.
OMK- I’m still working on the “by de-feau” part of your haiku.
ReplyDeleteAs always, the title twist and your ability to get all the H words into a haiku amaze me.
WC- poor Chet is really getting cold feet. This may be common with many prospective grooms.
Hopefully he sticks with the plan.
(Just an observation from my editorial eye re spelling/grammar- banns with double N, the first your should be you’re).
Hope you feel better soon.
"Date Night"
ReplyDeleteThe couple thought they would enjoy
watching a favorite movie
on the new TV they would employ
for an evening that would surely be groovy.
Given the way they looked forward toward
seeing a movie they would treasure,
they knew that it would not be hard
for this evening to be a pleasure.
Misty - sounds like a wonderful, romantic evening for your couple. All they need is a little aromatherapy!
ReplyDeleteCanadianEh! ~ Your hopeful poem reminds us that the optimism of the season may either hasten the arrival of world peace,
ReplyDeleteOR,
at least cover over the lack of accord with sentimental sights & sounds…
“All is calm / all is bright…”
As for the last “word” of my piece, please don’t knock yourself out.
Just say it aloud: It’s a playful nod toward two possible words, either of which completes the tautology.
~ OMK
I hope date night fulfills your couple's expectations, Misty.
ReplyDeleteI am a little fearful, though, because we know that most storylines that start off so well must pass through a period of turbulence before their arc brings them happily (or so we trust!) back home!
I admire and enjoy your AB scheme!
But my fingers are crossed--for the couple!
~ OMK
Maybe St. Pat's Day is too long to wait, Wilbur--for Chet's nerves.
ReplyDeleteFive more months of this ? That's a lot of time, maybe too much for the worrywart that he seems to be.
I'm not sure that admonitions from Nora are going to be sufficient to keep him in line--and off the sauce.
But Chet has fooled me in the past.
Fingers crossed!
~ OMK
Hey, Misty!
ReplyDeleteIt is Wordle 500 today--the big Five-oh-oh!
Both WC & CEh! are leaving good hints.
Especially CEh!
They both managed to solve it with Par-4 scores.
Can't you beat those?
~ OMK
C-Eh , I wasn't sure about the Double N on BANNS. Seems obvious now
ReplyDeleteYes, my editing was lax
What I like about Lois is she's always loving and patient. She lets Chet know he's her buckaroo for life
