Today’s Jumble haiku:
ReplyDelete(My own French Connection is my favorite supplier.
He is truly my…)
“Homme, Sweet Homme”
While my system can
endure most drugs, this encore
dose of morphine ‘palls.

I should have had it in three guesses! I repeated a wrong letter in guess three.
Sweet Revenge
ReplyDeleteHis inept response
To the bee’s nest
In the core of his HVAC system,
Allowed it to morph
Into a huge honeycomb
While ruining his home.
OMK- wonderful French title! Yes, an encore dose can be too much for the system, but tolerance to opioids occurs fairly quickly.
ReplyDelete"Family Fun"
ReplyDeleteWally was at home and happy while
with his brothers he quizzed them.
Their puzzled responses made him smile
at their relationship's silly system.
A year later he tried another encore
and morphed a whole new zone
which made his brothers with pleasure roar:
glad he was back in their home sweet home.
[Chet is on the phone with his Sponsor]
ReplyDelete"Neal, they're talking about a wedding extravaganza and Caribbean cruising
I've only been sober for a short while, a newbie at this sobriety thing"
"Chet, you must follow the system and trust that Higher Power
Who's morphed you from fear to one who no longer will cower.
The core of our process is in turning over our
Stubborn will
To that sweet Someone who's been with us all along and…
Is with us still "
When Chet got home he had a whole new attitude
He was in Harmony with life and filled with gratitude

Here's something which popped up on my cell Mathew Perry talks about his recovery and Anonymity
ReplyDeletePerry was on a sitcom but not one I watched. The name is familiar
Chet and Lois may discuss Anonymity in future meetings

Glad you enjoyed my title, CEh!.
ReplyDeleteYour poem describes another way for things to morph unpleasantly out of scale! Check your vents annually!
Honey ain’t always sweet…
I’m happy for Wally and his bros, Misty, that they finally came to better terms.
And I am exhilarated to see your continuing success with your anti-doggerel scheme! Brava!
You might save up just one AA couplet to mark the end of your verse.
You’re a master of that form, so might as well use it to advantage.
~ OMK
Ol' Man Keith, I hope your sweet French pal will be able to stay sober.
ReplyDeleteCanadianEh!, it's important to know how to deal with a bee's nest, and I'm sorry it made your fellow lose his home for doing it so poorly. And I fear the bees won't invite him to join them in their nest.
Wilbur, Loved the ending of your verse. Wonderful to see Chet so happy!
WC ~ Perry offers a new take on Anonymity, a fairly sophisticated one. His view marks our age: our 21st C way of re-thinking standard takes, from racism to prisons to social embarrassment, etc., has many surprises, some wise, some self-defeating.
ReplyDeleteChet’s evolution to trusting that “sweet Someone” is impressive.
There is a mental trick involved. May it continue to work for him!
We are all on his side.
~ OMK
Misty ~ My French pal enjoys fictional anonymity. I don’t think he has much interest in sobriety.
ReplyDeleteOur comrades’ W postings inspired me to try my hand again. I left a hint for you.
